ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1080 TI unofficial Owners Club - Page 10

Hey guys, I've got another question from the new info that just poped up for me.
They say Strix OC has some kind of 4pin connectors for extra fans? What does that mean? I can put a cooler on a GPU just as I do on CPU? How does that work? What to buy? I read some thermal benchmarks and guys are worried about that card's VRM's going 85-90 C +

those fan headers are for case fans etc, means u can plug in youre case fans and have them controlled with the fans of youre gpu.

it is not for an extra gpu fan..

From what i remember reading here it has more power limit allowing for slightly higher OCs.

again double check this.

Yep, at 120% power limit, the OC version is 330 watts, and the non-OC version is 300.

I flashed the OC bios to my non-OC card and the power limit increase hardly made any difference for me. I don't think it's worth the upgrade personally.
