damaged/cracked VRM module on the Asrock Z170M-ITX/AC

Picture says it all. I tried booting it up to bios and it works fine. Board came from a friend supposedly up for sale. About to take pics to post it online then I found this. He had no idea either how it got damaged like that. My question is if it does work fine for now what are the implications running it that way in the long run?

it's an inductor
it's an active and important piece of the VRM circuit

if you are lucky it won't pose problem
if you are mhew you will experience instability
if you are unlucky the voltage spike will kill the CPU

as a buyer I would pay as if the board is faulty/non-booting
