Its AMD, you shouldn't be surprised. There's always some kind of post release driver perf boost.

recently i think since 17.4.2 VR performance has been great with rx480. I also switched to SteamVR beta which also seemed to help a lot! thumb.gif

Just installed this driver... kinda not picking up my right monitor using displayport now...

First time in years I've had a dud driver from AMD.

Known Issues

HDTV displays may intermittently lose signal on some Radeon RX 480 series graphics products when connected over HDMI®.[/CENTER]

mad.gifmad.gif It's not just HDMI, it's DVI, displayport all of them. Outrageous that they haven't addresses this issue yet. VERY annoying to play and lose signal/ black screen every 5-10 minutes.

This doesn't get fixed soon I swear I will jump over to nvidia and never look back at amd. mad.gifmad.gif

I was under the impression that AMD announced that wattman was going to be for newer RX cards only.

I have no idea why you would want to overclock with Wattman on those series of cards. Afterburner/Trixx/ETC is so much better.

I don't do any serious overclocking with it - when I need to I use AB or Trixx like you mentioned. That said it's already running and a 1060/1250 with no other adjustment or program running/having to load at launch is just less of a hassle. Besides I can never quite get the fan curve to be as smooth nor quiet under AB or Trixx compared to setting it to a target of 70% fan speed in overdrive. It never goes above 55-60% whereas ab and trixx the fan curve seems to jump right up there far faster. Not going to spend an hour slightly adjusting a fan curve when this keeps it at 1060mhz 100% of the time with a 7% increase to power limit again in overdrive. thumb.gif

I was just benching at 1170/1500 the other day in trixx though.
