But I just realized the post I quoted was talking specifically about v-sync off in tandem with g-sync, so it would improve latency then.

Cant wait to read about the horrific QA when people get them. They cant even get it together now for their current offerings. This thing will be a nightmare.
Lol if this thing costs 2k. I wonder how much that eye tracker tax is. Need a version without it.

I would have thought 1k max. At 2k for a 27 inch not worth it even 4k. You could get 3x 1440p versions for a bit more than 1 of these.

Did I just read 4:2:2 @ 4k - 144hz? lachen.gif

Quote:
Like the prototype monitor Asus unveiled at CES 2017, the X27 requires some serious bandwidth and graphics card horsepower to drive it. As a minimum, it requires a 10-series Nvidia graphics card with a DisplayPort 1.4 connector.

That alone still isn't enough bandwidth for 144Hz 4K and HDR, though, with the X27 using 4:2:2 chroma subsampling to compress the image down when using the full 144Hz refresh rate.

Arstechnica article

This thing is a failure out of the gate.

Edit - 4:4:4 is capped at 96hz

So, i guess that's the compression they were talking about... Well, that sucks.
