Predator X27

The Predator X27 seems to have found a great balance between image quality and speed. At the very least, it is the first 4K monitor with HDR support running at 144Hz. It also supports G-Sync for smooth game play with compatible Nvidia GeForce graphics cards and GPUs.

If it's brightness you crave, the Predator X27 is rated to hit 1,000 nits courtesy of 384 individually controlled LED zones. Most monitors offer a brightness level of between 250 and 350 nits.

Beyond the brightness level, Acer says its panel offers up 99 percent coverage of the sRGB color space. It also features Quantum Dot enhancement film technology, 178-degree viewing angles, Nvidia's ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur) technology, and Tobii eye-tracking technology.

Now we just need better GPUs to actually make use of that 144hz in 4K tongue.gif

Pretty sure Volta won't cut it. Maybe nextgen after Volta...

either way, I'd totally try this out if it was 1440p. It's kind of a shame that they refuse to introduce a 1440p variant of this. FALD would eliminate virtually most of the problems with M270, and it would be perhaps more affordable. And easier to "drive", for sure.

Sounds nice on paper, but I hope their QC is just as good. Does 4K actually look good on a 27"?

on desktop? yep. With some scaling you get a pretty awesome looking experience.

in 4K movies? yep. amazing level of detail.

In games? DEPENDS. Sometimes, I just can't see any major improvement over 1440p. Many games still have models made with 1080p in mind.

QC will be better because FALD eliminates BLB by default. Only dead pixels and dust are impossible to avoid, but Acer's actually pretty good on the "deadies". Only one Xb271hu I owned had a dead pixel, and that one was second hand.

Has anybody ever used Tobii eyetracking? It seems like total BS to me.

By the way, I like the look of this monitor. It's still a bit "15yo" to me, but it surely matured compared to XB271HU.

If it's like Vega said and white uniformity is better for this monitor, there should be less of lottery. you only check for dead pixels and dust. If there are no problems, there you go: a perfect panel, wet dream of XB271HU owners tongue.gif

Shouldn't take more than 2 returns max!

I think ACER and ASUS will have realized that if someone is paying $2K for a display, they will not take defects lightly. Hopefully they up their quality control commensurately.

Pretty sweet looking. Although I could do without the hood and the eye-tracking bar. I also see ACER pretty much copied ASUS's OSD button layout/joystick setup.

Hopefully we can get it without the eye tracking and hood. Those are two things I'v never needed / wanted on a monitor.

What exactly is the point of using a hood on the monitor?
