I'll be buying a new monitor next week and having trouble deciding which monitor to buy granted the Omen and X34 are Gsync displays and I DO have an NVidia gtx 1080 but I care more for PQ than how smooth the picture is which is a bonus but if it looks like crap why bother?

the omen is about $200 more expensive than the X34 and $300 than the CF791 but thankfully all bills paid and have a $2000 check to play with "yaaaaaaay" .

The BLB from the X34 from what I can find is well...kinda pushing me away from it but won't sway me entirely.
I hear nothing but good things about the CF791 but it's freesync... The Omen should be close to identical to the Samsung in terms of PQ but can't say for sure but it has Gsync! And we all know about the X34...

You wont be doing yourself a favor by getting a freesync monitor with an nvidia gpu. Just decide on what you hate more, IPS glow or bad viewing angles because the Omen has less than average viewing angles for a VA. I'm used to TN panel veiwing angles so I dont find the Omens slightly worst than IPS viewing angles to be any issue but I absolutely hate IPS glow so my vote would be for the Omen.

I plan on getting an x34 after returning the Omen. The Omen also has silver glow as well which strongly affects the dark/black scenes. I rather have IPS glow than that and IPS glow is bad in itself.

IPS vs VA you have to pick on which you prefer: better colors and no color saturation loss on the corners/edges of the screen with IPS vs slightly better contrast/darker colors and stronger curved panells with VA.

Hi just taught I could help you take a decision. I just bought the bran new Acer Z35P. It is the same panel (I think) as the other omen x and aoc agon. It is 35 inch curved 3440*1440 gsync.

But the difference is that it can be overclock to 120HZ. Im writing on it right now and I am at 120hz.

So far very minimal back light bleed. I need to focus a lot and try to find it on black images. No dead pixel, no flicker, so far I dont see any problem.

Their is not ambient light like the omen or aoc. and the finish is like the x34 but even better. More gamers look.

I will probably start a Owner thread tomorrow morning.

The price is 1100$ us I think.

I was going for the omen but now with this one 3 years warranty compare to 1 year with hp and the 120HZ!!! >smile.gif

I do 3d imaging/rendering and occasional video editing while the Sammy and omen can handle that so can the z35 but color accuracy is the most important thing to me. Also after actually watching and reading reviews the omen doesn't compare really with the Sammy in terms of PQ but has gsync, really would have paid $1200 for the CF791 if it had gsync...

I'm also making a action-RPG granted 2D, not relevent to the monitor other than the games aspect ratio will be developed for 21:9 first then 16:9 added later.

Do you have images and can show the BLB?

Taking the Omen of the list as it's a pretty bad display, colors are pretty much washed out even after calibration and it has a strong silver glow... no thanks.

It's also a AOU panel not Samsung which is disappointing...

Went and saw it in person, brought my spider5 and CalMan software "your welcome best-buy" and...just disappointed with it's color accuracy... the Samsung CF791 on the other hand is gorgeous!
