EK is releasing a new monoblock for the ASUS® ROG Strix Z270I Gaming

EK Water Blocks, the Slovenia-based premium computer liquid cooling gear manufacturer is releasing its third monoblock in one week! The new monoblock is specially made for the ASUS® ROG Strix Z270I Gaming super-compact mITX motherboard. The EK-FB ASUS Z270I Strix RGB Monoblock is compatible with ASUS® Aura Sync, thus offering a full lighting customization experience!

EK-FB ASUS Z270I Strix RGB Monoblock

This is a complete all-in-one (CPU and motherboard) liquid cooling solution for the new Intel® Z270 Express Chipset LGA-1151 ASUS® ROG Strix Z270I Gaming motherboard that supports the latest 7th generation and 6th generation Intel® Core™ Processors as well.

Designed and engineered in cooperation with ASUS®, this monoblock uses award-winning EK-Supremacy EVO cooling engine to ensure best possible CPU cooling. This water block directly cools Intel LGA-1151 socket type CPU and the power regulation (MOSFET) module as well. Liquid flows directly over all critical areas, providing the enthusiasts with a great solution for high and stable overclocks. Like with every EK monoblock, ASUS Z270I Strix RGB features high flow design and this monoblock can be easily used with the system using a weaker water pump as well.

The base of the monoblock is made of nickel-plated electrolytic copper while the top is made of quality acrylic glass material. The nickel plated brass screw-in standoffs are pre-installed and allow for easy installation.

The monoblock is equipped with a 4-pin RGB LED strip that connects to the motherboard’s 4-pin LED header or it can be connected to any other 4-pin LED controller. The LED strip cover can easily be removed for adjusting the cable orientation or replacing the LED strip with a custom solution as well!

You can always check for compatible water blocks by using EK Cooling Configurator database where compatible graphics cards and motherboards are being added to the list on a daily basis:

The EK-FB ASUS Z270I Strix RGB Monoblock is made in Slovenia, Europe and is readily available for pre-order through EK Webshop and Partner Reseller Network. All pre-orders will start shipping Friday, 12th of May, 2017! In the table below you can find MSR prices with VAT included.

  • EK-FB ASUS Z270I Strix RGB Monoblock – Nickel 119.95€

I just wanted to mention, since the Z270i was being discussed, but there are some sort of devices that stick up quite a bit on the back of this mobo that are under the mounting bracket for the Supremacy EVO block. At first I thought just trimming the rubber pad would be enough, and I did trim the pad, but the bracket still made contact. So I trimmed the bracket, as well. I have no idea if the bracket for this monoblock is the same, but interference might be an issue if it is. I'll take pics of what I did in a bit and post them here.

Went to order one and the DHL came to like $40 ! frown.gif

Guess I'll have to wait until PPC's has them available . . . .

Any idea on how much later it'll be before PPCs has them than from the webshop?

Here's the pic. It's hard to judge the depth perception, especially resized to where the board can deal with it, but those devices along the left side of the bracket would hit the metal if not trimmed away.

Thanks for posting . . .

Hopefully, EK will come up with a modified backplate by the time the monoblock ships.

That looks like close to a couple mm that needs to be trimmed back, which unfortunately, removes the lip which adds most of the rigidity.

Yeah, I hated cutting it off, but I didn't want to clamp down on those little whatever-they-ares - Asus is really crowding that area, but it is a tiny board. I had a NH-D14 on it and that backplate cleared, and I booted up with just the waterblock after this install to make sure it hadn't flexed or anything to cause troubles.

The Monoblock doesn't use a backplate so you won't have this issue with it. thumb.gif

The pre-order are suppose to start shipping on May 12th which is a friday so I imagine that PPCS should have them available the week after.

Thanks for the update, good news there on both counts.

$40 in shipping goes a lot farther from PPCs, lol . . . could easily get block, rads, fittings, pumps, and then some . .

Question, any reason you guys didn't include the m.2 in the monoblock as well? Complexity, cost, design?
