[Square-Enix] Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood benchmark

Thread Starter
You may download the bench here.

My results with Die Neue on 1080p:

FX-8120 @ 4.3
Stock R9 390 with 17.3.1 drivers
Win7
FreeSync on

High preset: 8653
High preset but with strong SSAO substituted for standard HBAO+: 8841
Max preset: 8315

-It seems the benchmark is primarily CPU-dependent, minus the final section where there's a bigger difference in the FPS graph between high/max.

-HBAO+ seems to be better optimized than it was in Heavensward/3.0.

Feel free to post your results! smile.gif

CPU dependent meaning it uses all cores?

OR

CPU dependent meaning it is coded terribly?

I haven't seen any Ryzen samples so far, so it's hard to say whether it's preferential to Intel or just likes both cores and IPC.

Overclocked Pentiums are getting ~7000, 4790ks @ 4.5 around ~12,000, so at the very least it does seem to recognize more than two cores.

How is core usage on your CPU?

Looks like it steadily uses 4 threads; occasionally see a bit of activity on up to 6.

Got 10,733 on 720p Maximum. R7 1700 @ 3.8Ghz on all cores. But my 7950 is pretty ancient so maybe that had an impact even at 720p. I didn't think to change the resolution or anything, just the preset.

It seemed like 1 thread had the heaviest load by far, with 5 or so others being moderately loaded and several others seeing a mild load. It seemed like at least 10-12 threads were seeing some sort of load usually.

Just ran it on my 4.0GHz 1700.

It doesn't appear to be threaded all that well. One core pegged at nearly 100%, the real cores around 10 to 15% and the SMT threads around 5%.
