Seeing the poor performance of small vega (if its true), I think we all need to get ready for the worst.

That's pitiful. Its graphics score doesn't break 6K (GTX 1070 level), whereas a GTX 1080 is over 7K and Fury X is around 5.5K.

firstly I see NO evidence here that this is Vega to begin with, I see nothing that proves anything about anything here what so ever. this is all reported to be "X"
I'll wait for Vega to be released by AMD then I will make up my mind on how many I am buying or not buying.
If AMD lets Vega flop I am pretty sure they will pay the price, until then though the rumor mill gets no credence

Only 358Gbps, so this is definitely not big Vega.

Sounds about right to me a small Vega with ~1070 Performance and according to this time spy it's only running at 1200MHz. I still believe we'll see Vega with something like 1400/1500MHz when it launches.

I would be ok with the perfomance depending on price.

Kepler to maxwell was more than just the "tiled based rasterization". There were so many small changes under the hood. In fact so much the efficiency jumped up 35% core by core comparison. AMD will not deliver this much increase with Vega. Navis is the first candidate to achieve such improvements. If you haven't noticed, AMD is behind in overall tech and now playing catch up. If they had released Vega earlier (even possible?), the performance would have been worse. It just wasn't ready.

And by the way, get the "complete new architecture out of your head. Vega will be a beefed up GCN iteration, nothing more. Too much legacy stuff AMD has to let in there.

AMD the last years could fight on the high end (7970/290x) and even fiji failed because of the maxwell oc abilities.

1080 Ti performance is a little far fetched. AMD will beat the 1080 in some scenarios for sure. But the 1080 Ti seems to be out of their reach. I will believe so until AMD can proof the reality otherwise.

If so, then wait for final reviews. Only after that we have "proof" about anything. Everything else is just lying to yourself.

The terms "big and small" are getting tiresome. Without any information coming from AMD, this whole discussion is nothing more but a guessing game. Yet on the other hand I wonder why all of you guys are so obsessed with higher clocks. Haven't you seen what happends when GCN upps the clocks in Polaris? The result become a monster uncrollable int he head and consumption department.

GCN is like a monster-car, high horsepower low RPM. High horsepower (shader) and lower RPM (cocks).
The Geforce architectures have switched to high RPM engine less horsepower concept a while ago, which means lesser horsepower (shaders) but way more RPM (clocks). You can never have both as every good engineer can assure you. Wishing this is just killing AMD.

Even if it somehow is possible to make a compromize, the paradigm shift doesn't come over night. There are always side-steps necessary.

Indeed. The score is so spectacularly bad that it can't be big vega. Unless AMD indeed used 500mm2 of 14nm and only managed to get fiji perf.
