Acer Z35P In hand and small review - Page 18

The viewing angles aren't really a factor due to the curve. I have the current Z35 and as long as you are sitting center lined to the monitor, the viewing angles are great. I wasn't sure that a curved monitor made sense before but it really does in this form factor.

I think it depends on how far back you sit from the screen. I noticed a loss of saturation towards the edges of the Omen, and a slight "shimmer" in my periphery vision. I sit about 3-4 feet away from the screen.

That is farther away than I sit. I am a bit less than 3 feet.

Are you guys kidding me? AMVA for editing? That only works if you sit away at least 95cm with the Omen.
Everything detailed ends up like this :

This is taken from a very close angle but represents the color shifts I was experiencing when sitting 60cm away from the Omen X 35. If you tell me the Z35P is way different, then hallelujah, I will try this one. But when I got the AMVA Panel of the Omen after using IPS for the last 5 years, I felt like Back to the Future.

If you start arguing for AMVA in terms of color and viewing angles please show me proper images and Infos about the circumstances.

Like I said, I'll be happy if you convince me, but the AMVA of the Omen was the worst I have seen in a while...

I have to agree with you. Sadly the VA panel on the Omen/AOC/Acer is a joke compared to more recent VA panels. A laughable 2000:1 contrast ratio, problematic dark transitions that other VA panels have managed to overcome, and even worst viewing angles. Despite it's shortcomings though I only use my monitor for gaming only, no serious color work so I found myself enjoying this monitor way more than the glowy IPS panels that ruins all dark scenery.

Do you happen to have the same photo taken directly in front rather than the angle shot this is? I never look at any monitor at this angle. Curious to see the difference.
