Acer Z35P In hand and small review - Page 6

Now this is a display that I didn't even know I've been waiting for. Finally a 120hz ultrawide. Congrats on a good buy. I can't wait until this is available in the states. thumb.gif

On my calibrated X 35 Omen the image looks so:

We are all interested in this tests, because we need to know if the monitor is better than the X 35 Omen or AG352UCG.
Here you go I told you my phone is crap...

Ok. The banding is very good visible. Same **** as on the X35 Omen and many AUO tn panels.

Hi,

Can you please tell me:
1) What is the clearance between the desk and the bottom of the screen in the lowest height adjustment setting?
2) How thick are the bezels?

Acer had the best ergonomics in that regard, e.g. the old Predator Z35 allows to set the screen as low as 40mm above the desk + 25mm bezel = 65mm from desk to the start of the actual screen. See http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/acer_predator_z35.htm#ergonomics.

This is one one the reasons why I did not go for AGON which has 90mm claerance + 30mm bottom bezel = 120mm, which is far to high for comfortable use (at least for me).

Just wonder if Acer kept things the same in Z35Pmodel.

I have the OMEN X 35" and I'm wondering what was actually done differently if the panel is the exact same...

Thanks for the reply Oliver,

So I went and pick up a Z35P yesterday and there's a cover you can just pop it off at the top of the stand and you will see the VESA screws underneath (Its 100 x 100)

Out of the box colour seems to be good but do you mind telling me what setting you use for brightness/contrast/ etc?

I am running it at 120hz as well and no problems at all. Just the base is a little too big (12.16") so getting I am getting a monitor arm for sure. (Plus getting a new desk, will try to post some pics after) Seems like the only one that can hold its weight would be the Amazon Basics monitor arm (up to 25lbs)

Absolutely love it!

Thanks again

J

1) Clearance: 98 millimiters
2)Bezel: 25 millimiters

Seems the same as the Agon then.

Hi I do not have idea, but Hp Omen lineup is new in the market. Acer, they have a lot knowloedge from years of gaming monitors. Maybe that play a role in this!

Cool Im happy you love it!! My settings are the one it came with I only changed brighness to 50 I did not play yet with the configuration of picture quality. Their a lot of option to play with, so Im sure we can have a picture better than with factory settings. If you do try some things, keep me update as I will try them also! smile.gif

Edit: If you play games on it using g_sync make sure you go in nvidia control panel to activate v-sync. So g-sync will work for 30-120fps and 120fps+ will have vsync kicks in. It does makes a difference on games less stutter!
