ah, sorry to hear that. If the motherboard isn't beeping at all with no cpu, or no memory, it means it's dead.

don't blame the asus itself. i got the same board and has some defect on the first place. RMA it and it's all good. Ryzen platform is new and kind of premature release. ive been moved around several brands and i could say asus has a good quality

The motherboard in my rig went bricky-bye randomly after like a month of use... it sucks. Hope your RMA goes quick.
Sorry AMD

I guess I should have gone with the general advice of people and stayed away from the Asus motherboards. Thank you for the support.

"Stay away from ASUS boards" They probably have the reputation of making the best AMD boards that are sold retail.

Also, this motherboard does not have any of the handy debugging screens that normally light up on the motherboard to indicate if the system posted or not.

Edit: just tried powering up the mobo with just the psu plugged in, and it didn't work, but I also added on the CPU afterwords and the power went through just fine like before. No beeps or sounds at all though. Starting to think the mobo itself is faulty.

A motherboard isn't going to show any signs of life without a cpu in the socket.
