How is this possible?

Built my first PC a few weeks ago.

Intel 7600k @ Stock
NZXT Kraken X62
Gigabyte AORUS Z270X Gaming K7
G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4 3200 14-14-14-34 Running on XMP profile

Since I plan on slowly overclocking later on, I dropped the vCore to 1.04v stable after testing for about 10-15 min each on intel XTU, AIDA64, Asus Realbench, Prime95 26.6. Any lower, and I would get a BSOD during benchmarks.

I would normally get load temps around 62-66 C. Since last night however, my load temps dropped by ~20 degrees!! The highest temp I saw was 48 C on Prime 95. Everything else was around 46 C max.

The weird thing is I changed nothing!! Even the ambient temps are about the same. I installed RealTemp 3.70 yesterday and I was getting my normal idle temps 26-28 so I didn't think anything of it... Until I did some gaming and benchmarks a few hours later and noticed the insane drop in temps. The temperature readings are consistent in all the other monitoring app I have.

Is it possible that RealTemp 3.70 is messing with my temperature readings? Or Is it normal for temps to settle down like this after some time?

That's good to hear. Has anyone ever experienced this? Wondering how common it is.

I forgot to mention, I am not using the stock NZXT thermal paste. I repasted with Arctic MX-4 before installing.

I had this happen to me with my 4930k. Checked temps when I built it, didn't check them again for a couple months and they were ~10c lower

15c difference is crazy. I don't understand how that would be possible. I just checked with 7 different apps on my pc with aida64 running for 10 mins and temps are the same +/- 2 Degrees difference between them...
