Pre-Sale Questions

Hi all,

New to the forum so be gentle. wink.gif

I'm considering buying my CPU from yourselves as it will be delidded and will save me the job and expense of having to do it but had a few questions before I commit.
  • I'm looking at your I7 7700k 5Ghz CPU, if I were to buy one would I still need to configure my motherboard with overclocking or is the fact that the CPU already overclocked enough?
  • For cooling I'm looking at using either Noctua D-14, Cryorig R1 Ultimate or NZXT Kraken X62, any thoughts on the best for 5.0Ghz?

Thanks in advance.

The overclock is applied either through the bios of the motherboard or with software once in the operating system. Buying a 5GHz i7 7700K from silicon lottery just means they have tested it and it is capable of that frequency at the voltage they stated. You will need to apply the overclock once you have installed the cpu in your motherboard of choice.

The choice on cooler might come down to money, you'll probably have to spend a decent amount of money to get a notable improvement in cooling over those HSF solutions you listed, so they would probably suffice.
