bit-tech's "PC Hardware Buyer's Guide Q2 2017" - Ryzen beginning to dominate

bit-tech does a quarterly Hardware Buyer's Guide. This consists of putting together an optimal build list for the best:

1. Affordable All-Rounder (under $600.00 budget)

An i3-7100 powers this, but they also noted it might be worth waiting for the Ryzen 3 CPU's coming out soon.

2. Enthusiast Gamer (under $1,100.00 budget)

A Ryzen 5 1400 won out here.

3. Premium Player (no set budget)

The Ryzen 7 1800X was chosen (with the Ryzen 1700 for those that want to overclock).

4. Pocket Rocket (Mini-ITX rig)

i5-7600K won here, though again they suggest that the Ryzen Mini-ITX boards are worth waiting for.

So two out of four are already wins for AMD, and they expect Ryzen to become competitive in the low end and Mini-ITX categories soon. This seems like a significant accomplishment for AMD, starting to become the CPU of choice over Intel is quite a change.

It just seems like a few builds they put together, there were no real comparisons done... they compared this one intel cpu, and didnt mention any real performance metrics...

Seems like just another guide to build pc's at various price ranges. I think half the fun of building yourself is choosing the bits and what not. And you can use any range of benchmarked and documented systems as comparison to see if you did a good job...
