Need help choosing a pump

I've been using 2*240mm radiators with a GPU and CPU block. The present pump I have is a fixed speed pump with a head pressure of 4m and 500L/H. After getting the Ryzen 1800X and cooling the R9 390 I thought of adding another 360mm radiator as Ryzen seems to heat up a lot more when compared to my previous FX 8350. I'm not sure if the pump would be able to manage the load of another 360mm radiator. I was thinking of getting a pump to replace it. Since I'm in India, liquid cooling components are very difficult to avail of, so I'm stuck purchasing from one retailer. At the moment the best pump he has is a DC12V pump with a head pressure of 7m and a flow rate of 800 L/H. I did ask him if this new pump would manage the load and he told me he wasn't sure. So here I am asking the experts for help. Any advice and opinions would be greatly appreciated. I'm even including pics of this new pump which I intend to purchase if it will be beneficial to my system as I'm not sure if the old pump can manage the load.

A rad is very little restrictive, a lot less than a waterblock
so
if the pimp that you already have is of good quality (those 4m are real)
adding another rad should not do harm
or
you can replace a 240, the less performing

Those pics definitely look like a DDC. They put out more pressure than D5s. Don't know which pump you are replacing, but the DDC is about as powerful as they come.

It can't be a D5 pump cause I think most of them allow pump speed controls but this pump doesn't allow for pump speed change. The guy who I purchased it from confirmed that it's a DC pump.

3 rads + 2 waterblocks. A D5 or a DDC pump can handle that. Unless your rads are of a poor brand that has some kind of massive restriction in them.
D5 more flow but less head pressure.
DDC more head pressure but less flow.


And that pump you show pictures of is a DDC since no D5 I know of has 7 meters of head pressure, but I know the DDC`s has.


But overall it depends on your build if you need a D5 or DDC.. Or even dual D5 or DDC`s. biggrin.gif
How mutch restriction is in your loop, hardline or soft tubing. How many bends? 90 degree`s etc etc.

Thanks. That helps a bit. I'm using soft tubing. A top mounted radiator, front and bottom too.

since you are using soft tubing with an ID at 8 mm or bigger there is no restriction there. And you dont have any 90 degree bends also so your loop is not very restrictive so far.
What kind of rads and waterblocks do you use?
