Not saying you shouldn't be happy with a 1080ti/TitanXP, but if Vega ends up smashing both these cards for a fair price, it's gonna sting like a *sounds like snitch* biggrin.gif

Sound like what you are hoping for isnt going to happen, when you cannot wait, even if Vega is 50% faster for half price you will still buy 1080 Ti / Titan Xp knowing AMD endless delays.

Yes till now we have no confirm released date, so you hold your laughter high but no one will be bothered. And no it doesnt sting. wink.gif

Probably it will be our turn to laugh if Vega turn out to be like Fury X back 2 years ago.

Polaris, was launched exactly when they said it would be, same for vega. they haven't delayed vega yet.

late =/= delayed

As for other crap, well if it's faster than ti/txp. by 15-20%, there's something done by Legendary nvidia marketing team already.
that is volta launch rumours. people who instant upgrade for 10% performance improvements will now just wait for volta no matter how long. just wait and watch lol

yes yes, the endless back-and-forth waiting.
  1. hold your money! AMD will be releasing Vega soon!
  2. Vega released! but wait! Nvidia's Volta is coming out!
  3. Volta released! but wait! AMD's Vega 20 is coming out!

The thing is, people can always wait. Those who got themselves a 1080ti/titanXP in recent weeks didn't NEED a card of that price. It's something we're just accustomed to and we're pretty much spoiled.
A $180 RX 480 would suffice for anyone, even on 4K if you sacrifice 5% of your quality by turning down settings.
That said, i understand why people buy flagship GPUs but if people had information about Vega being 50% faster for half the price, NOBODY in their right mind would go for an Nvidia card.
Endless delays is something of the past. And even if that were still the case, people would still wait unless they literally want to throw away their money.

Let's wait and see if it doesn't sting. I'll bet my left nut, and my right, that the forums would be flooded with: "I shouldve waited" comments IF vega smashes 1080ti/TXP at a good enough price point.
I'm not saying you would feel the sting, but trust me, many users would.
I know i know, there's always something else around the corner, but i'm talking about a couple of weeks time, not months.

In the end, i won't be bothered by any of it. I'm more of a low-mid range GPU person. Altho some competition between the two would be great. It might run down prices thumb.gif

Just a hunch but I think AMD will price Vega very competitively. People who bought their nVIDIA GPUs are horrendous prices are going to feel a slight sting. They'll claim they won't... but they will.. it is only human.

AMD does these at "stock clock"

This is good for both sides. We all know Nvidia basically owns the high end right now and can dictate pricing. Please be HD 4850/70 all over again.

Not even close to just 5%, and not even close to decent framerate.
