None of them are being released next week, that's a pipe dream. Don't set yourself up for disappointment.

i'm not really anticipating anything, just curious what else they'll release, though i suppose may 9th is a bit too early.

Agreed,

With my 1060 on 1080p there are a good number of popular games where I'm below the bar of smooth.

I'd guess two cards, like the Fury/Fury X. Wonder how they'll handle the naming if they have two Vega chips though, since historically that would be four cards.

Check out BF1 for example, looks great even on lowest settings. With a RX480 u can easily maintain decent framerates (45+) on slightly turned down settings.
If the gameplay is good enough, looks aren't even imporant anymore. Whenever u play a game that's just so great to play, you get emerged in it and you're not gonna be paying attention to how amazing the AA on the shadows in the distance are or how amazing the mirror on the car is reflecting the enviroment.
There is no way you can justify when people say i NEED a enthusiast GPU to run my games in a decent manner. They want it, and that is perfectly fine. But when people trick themselves into getting a flagship Nvidia card right now, because of that and end up burning themselves because Vega might actually be the better card for the buck, then that's gonna be amusing to me biggrin.gif
Don't read this as hate. I respect anyone and anyone's choice of purchasing whatever they wish, even tho i would not do the same thing. To each their own! thumb.gif

Only thing i care to see with Vega is the 4k benchmarks. Hopefully HBM2 can power through those 8 million pixels ☺

This.

The moment I get a new GPU a 4K display is coming along with it.

1440p without dips at a decent price is good for me.

Why else would Nvidia release so many "top" versions of their cards in such a short period of time?

At the highest prices for any graphics cards in history?

They wanted to make as much money as possible because they knew VEGA's insane power was right around the corner. Now that it's here, those insane prices are going to come right down, as we've already seen.

Not a bad business decision, but now balance has been restored to the market.

Well said assessment. That is one way of looking at it. However, given a few more days and we will all know what to make of this gpu.
