I played Doom in 4K the other day on my Radeon 290 at 1100 core with a 30% boost to voltage and 100 mhz oc on the ram. It played it just fine with shadows on low in the 50's to 60 FPS. Lowest dip I saw was around 40 FPS when things got demanding. If you have a 1200+ core radeon 290 or 290x it will easily play Doom at 4K @60hz. Also, the RX580 at over 1500 mhz core is a little beast and is faster so it will easily keep doom at 60 with higher shadows probably.

Its amazing what you can achieve on a game engine thats actually optimized, unlike alot of garbage coded games that are out there now.

Whatever happens I'm hoping at least they compete, you would think that AMD would follow the Ryzen Launch by also disrupting the GPU market although I don't think prices would be as drastic.
Either way I have a Vega something in my near future or a GTX1080. Will definitely be an interesting Q2.

Why else would Nvidia release so many "top" versions of their cards in such a short period of time?

At the highest prices for any graphics cards in history?

They wanted to make as much money as possible because they knew VEGA's insane power was right around the corner. Now that it's here, those insane prices are going to come right down, as we've already seen.

Not a bad business decision, but now balance has been restored to the market.

The Imperial are taking over. Welcome to the darkside.
