What the hell is the point of buying a K series processor if you don't overclock? This is nothing more than intel on damage control because they used poor quality TIM between the die and IHS.

Ryzen is fully unlocked and overclocking is only limited by silicone/architecture afaik.
Gotta have nahalem before you release a sandy bridge.

No, like nvidia does: Conservative/ hardly any increase in voltage & now way to go beyond the power limit without modding the PCB or editing the BIOS.

With the introduction of Ryzen, i'm struggling to see any reason to go with Intel processors.

De-lidding has always voided warranty so nothing new there.

Sounds like Intel wants you to drop another $30 to buy the OC warranty.

Notice that they only mentioned the 7700k?

They are trying to tell you: If you want to overclock, please buy our more expensive chip from the hedt because we use soldered. Oh you say ryzen is cheaper for 6/8 cores? Sorry we have a big fan base and we are not dropping price for the hedt neither are we changing the pigeon poop on our mainstream cpu. Have fun trying to hope we will lose market share!

AMD cards dont overclock much better though. the power limit makes sense. the VRM on ref cards suck simple as that pulling more power will only lead to failure and cost nvidia money in the end it sucks but id rather have a working card than have access to voltages nobody but 1% of users will ever use.

Intel is still faster. pretty much all the reason enthusiasts need.

when people overclock and complain about temperatures no wonder they don't recommend them to do that...

also, not recommending isn't the same as telling you not to do, such clickbait tittle lol

did you even read the source or just comment? people at stock clocks are getting 90C+ temps. it isn't isolated to only overclockers. A friend of mine has a 7700K and with an H110GTX he idles in the mid 40's and load is in the low 90's now tell me does that seem normal to you? rolleyes.gif

well, that is a different problem then.

incorrect installation is the main cause of that particular issue

after 12 different remounts? thats not even possible. we even tried 2 different motherboards and i tested my older h100i same exact results.
