With the release of Ryzen and the impending release of Vega not to mention the need to update my current gpus, I've decided to build a new rig. This rig will take a while as I am not certain on what parts to get so I will be taking suggestions as I go along. I'm currently sitting on a decent PC but I'd like to have a back up as well as another for straight productivity. This PC will be watercooled(my second attempt with hardline tubing). I will shift my current PC into being my workstation rig and this will purely be gaming and streaming machine.
Core components:
Motherboard- Asus CrossHair VI or Asrock X370 Taichi(torn between these two, ultimately bios/availabilty will determine which to go with)
Cpu-Ryzen 7 1700X 3.4 GHz( will explain why... not the 1700 below)
Ram- Gskill 16/32 GB 3200MHz RGB(as long as it is compatible)
Storage- Western Digital 2TB Black Drive
SSD-960 Evo/Pro 512GB model
PSU-Seasonic Flagship PRIME TITANIUM 1000W PSU
GPU-Vega flagship??? Maybe x2
Watercooling components:
Rads- dual 360 Hardware labs GTX/GTS or Dual 360 EK PEs
CPU Block- EK Supremacy(not sure which look, copper, nickel, frost)
GPU Block- Whatever EK Vega equivalent that will be available
Pump-EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 PWM
Tubing-12/13mm PETG
Fitting- PrimoChill and Bitspower.
I am having a hard time purchasing the mobo but I know for sure I will be getting at least the 1700X. Microcenter have the combo purchase with a $100 off. I was set on the Asus and then reviews started popping up on the Taichi which showed it to be basically the best board to get(fatal1ty as well but the color scheme sucks) but recent news about its bios have me doubting if I should. The best thing about the Asus is the compatibility with AM3 coolers, which opens a plethora of options on waterblocks that can be used. That being said in order for the combo discount to work I would have to at least purchase the 1700X(fine by me). The cost would be somewhere around $144 for the board and like 350 for the CPU...roughly $500 for the two is a steal IMHO. I was going to get the Seasonic 850w Prime but for $50 more, I might as well get the 1000w.
My biggest issue right now however is the case selection. I think I will end up going with the Lian Li PC-011. I've never had a case made by them before and I think I will give them a try this go around. I have been asking around here and other places on which case to purchase. It needs to have at least support for dual 360mm radiators, and I like the idea of having a compartmentalized chassy. The PC-012WX looks good too but my GPUs on the opposite side of my mobo(idk) if I'd like that.
Let me know guys on what you think about my setup and if you have any substitutes(why). This build will be on going so bear with me on the updates. I don't have a theme for this build but I think the color scheme will probably be black/white/grey, black/grey/orange or maybe even grey/blue/white.
