Notice: You are now required to sign up each month, be sure to sign up for this month's event and each event going forward

What is the Foldathon?

Every month we hold a Foldathon, or FAT for short. The FAT is a mad dash over a 2 day period where we fold on as much hardware as we can get our grubby fingers on and try to amass the most points possible. It is winner takes all. Okay, that's not true, but if you're lucky you might win something, probably not, but you will have made a honourable contribution to the science behind Folding@Home. What is that science you're probably asking, have a gander over here to learn more. All units crunched for team 37726 count, even if you can only manage to complete one unit, but if you're already a folder, there's no excuse for not folding for the full 48 hours
:wubsmiley

How it works:

Sign-up and run Folding@home for Overclock.net (team number: 37726) during the specified times. Those who Fold will be entered into a drawing to win the prizes listed below. If you still don't know what Folding@home is or need some help getting started, feel free to post here, make a thread in the Overclock.net Folding@Home Team forum or check this guide: FAHControl v7 for both CPU and GPU

SIGN UP HERE

You can verify whether or not you're signed up by looking for your name here in the member list.

If you don't submit any points during a Foldathon, you will be removed from the list, this is to push for active participation in the event.

You are required to re-sign up each month for the prize option, this is to hopefully push a little more active participation in the event as well and prevent prizes going to people who aren't active in the community.

When:

12:00EST / 16:00UTC Monday May 22nd - 12:00EST / 16:00UTC Wednesday May 24th 2017

Countdown to start

Reminders:

If you would like to be put on a reminder list for all future Foldathons, please join this group: Foldathon Participants

Prize Winners:

OCN Donated PayPal:

*on hold*

Member donated:

GTX 970 - Donated by @kremtok - Active folders must reach 125

If you wish to donate a prize, shoot @lanofsong or @PR-Imagery a PM

Prizes will be drawn on or around the following Monday after the event.

After accepting a prize in any given monthly folding event, members will sit out two events before becoming eligible for prizes again. This is to hopefully spread the kindly donated items amongst the OCN folding community more fairly.

The signup form appears to be working again. Hopefully mine got through.

@kremtok Do we really need 125 folders before you give that GTX 970 FTW away?

In, though I will not be running either of my Titan rigs. Too hot. Having the AC fight that is not a good plan.

In.

EDIT: With winter on the way I might also be able to fold more during the day. Not having aircon can be a pain.

I'm looking to start some light folding, maybe on medium settings. Not sure how good my Rig could do, hopefully I can manage to join soon. Anyone Fold on Air cooled rigs? I'm wondering how heavy of a load is medium, which I know it will vary depending on setup. I am also curious how easy it is to set it up, I've done a little bit of research, but not enough to start yet. Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated. I'm willing to fold when I can, and will gladly take any info that I can get. I trust the people here, sad as that may be lol. Best of luck to everyone signing up, and maybe I will join in on the fun. Sig Rig is what I would be using, it's my only PC. Thanks again

I've had pretty good weather for the Pentathlon. I actually left the door open where all the computers are at to let the heat rise up into the townhouse. Today its supposed to be in the 90s for the 1st time since before the pent.

Though, it toasty as heck down here. I keep on going. Thank goodness I have the rigs water cooled.
Still 82-84F inside is a bit uncomfortable, Summer down here is not going to be fun at all.
