A lot. It's like they copied Steam like they did TF2. biggrin.gif

But people will complain anyways

It's a Steam wannabe app my desktop doesn't need. I don't need another Steam, much like I don't need Origin or Uplay or whatever.

you can voice chat, text chat, whisper, start your games and invite others to them. Seriously.

Why don't you go log into wc3 then sc2 and you will answer your own question

If you think the modern battlnet is superior to what spawned MOBAs and esports I have no words...

Literally all of esports comes out of old battlenet, which was centered around the game experience not hooking you into pumping more cash to blizzard.

No shrinks were involved in the engineering of the old battle net to get you to connect with IRL friends to push you to pay and play

Man, I was really excited for Destiny 2 on PC but my hype died down when they announced that it requires Battle.net.

I'm sure its fine for some people, but I've had nothing but trouble with it in the past and I really don't want to reinstall that crap on my system again. frown.gif

I have steam, origin, uplay, battle.net, gog and bethesdas own client on my pc. Having all of them gave me 0 hassle.

Anything by Blizzard is about as polished as it gets... plus you can buy the game with gold you make in WoW.
I have ZERO problems with it being Battle.NET as I always have it open. I usually only use Steam when its time to play some GTA5.

I played the absolute crap out of Destiny until the trials of Osiris xpac so I can't wait to play Destiny 2 when I want a break from WoW and Overwatch.

Going Battlenet avoids that.

Valve negotiates the cut they get per title/publisher. For something like Destiny 2 they could easily reduce it to something 15% or lower for exclusive promotion.

I think Blizzard has a hand in helping them with the PC version in some fashion.

Yup, Like the entire pc online infrastructure battle.net offers. Bungie didn't have that and considering the publisher is part of the same org structure it was a no brainer.

Also battle.net app runs way better then any of the other launchers and has a much better simplified UI. I can't stand steams UI, I used to like origins but the new one is garbage. I don't use gog often cuase I don't need to in order to launch the games. Uplay isn't great either. Steam really needs an overhaul of that app and to not hold their awesome IPs hostage.

Edit: Worst game launcher is FFXIV that I have experienced in modern times lol.

Edit 2: Steam is a great storefront but crappy launcher and social platform imo. Blizzard is a so so store but much better launcher and social platform

I meant other than battle.net. I wouldn't be surprised if they handled the entire PC port. I do agree on Steam's bad interface. They overhauled the store and left everything else to languish.

I truly don't understand any of the complaints. The blizz launcher is as good or better than any other game launch software out there. And battle.net has great social components, which is the entire reasoning behind this partnership. Now your overwatch team, you wow team, D3 team or whatever can join up with you in Destiny 2. Smart move imo.
