Volenti/bong cooling built inside case

I built ghetto vertical volenti style cooling inside my case. I used 2 1.5 liter coca-cola bottles as "bong" and inside that i put old sock that i cut. I first got idea to build bong cooler inside case from "Project Rainfall", and later chose to make it like volenti but vertically.

Here some pictures:

I want to make some improvements to increase water capacity, if i have it running all day i need to refill 3 times, and make refilling easier, now i have to remove fan.

How is the cooling performance?

I hope it doesn't leak. Radiators don't cost all that much, why not just get a rad if you will put it in your case. Then you don't have to worry about leaks and spills.

good to see people are still doing this

There are however a few considerations with evaporative (bong/volenti/swamp) coolers
- the dryer the ambient air, the better they work ... living in Nevada desert will yield better results than living in misty/rainy Scotland

However, if you already got room A/C, not only will the A/C make the air cooler, but it will also make the air dryer, thus increasing the performance of the swamp cooler.
- evap cooling (substantially) raises the moisture level in the ambient air and THAT could be an issue. You risk drawing moist air into your PC and over your components which wont be good for long term health of the PC. And in worse case, if you dont regularly replace the entire water content (preferably wash out bottle with bleach) you can create a legionella source, which wont be good for *your* long term health.

That said, why not scale it up?
Make a "big" external swamp cooler using a Coleman or a repurposed dustbin or just get & mod the evap of a real swamp cooler.... amaze us

Evap (swamp/bong/volenti) cooling can go sub-ambient, they outperform "regular" water cooling with ease

Sure they are a bit of a hassle, and need to be scaled up a bit and you need to live in a dry climate; but the performance is awesome and they are cheap to make.

I cant really compare cooling performance to anything but my old scythe ninja 3. I had this 2500k running at 4.8ghz, temps going ~65c on hottest core with prime95. Now im running 5ghz i get hottest core ~60c. Also seems that this 2500k can do high clocks with lower voltage than usual, im using 1.4, drooping to 1.38 on prime95 at 5ghz. This is with cheap chinese waterblock, im planning to lap it some day to test if that helps.

Its not leaking, but will leak to bottom of case if overfilled.

Edit: Now i have changed to 360x60mm radiator because i wanted to fit all inside case, and evaporative cooler really doesn't seem to be good choice if its not bigger. Now i have ~3c lower temps and not have to worry about cleaning and filling often.
