On June 2nd Tekken enters the ring on PC for the first time in its 22 year history, with the launch of the Unreal Engine 4-powered Tekken 7. Featuring sublime graphics, spectacular effects, and high-fidelity textures, Tekken 7 on PC is a real treat. And if you have a high-performing PC you can crank the resolution up to 4K for the best possible experience, as demonstrated in the video below:
Unless you strictly like 2D's I assure you the Tekken 7 hype is real and it's going to be big. It even has Akuma so you could at least have one street fighter character at your disposal. 170 people entered in ComboBreaker next weekend, a week out, and game isn't even out yet.
I think this is the fighting game they will bring me back to my old days when I was in high school. Playing Tekken Tag Tournament after school along with DDR was my favorite thing to do during the weekdays or almost every day for that matter lol.
Anyone recommend a good controller that doesn't break the bank? I have played KOF and Street Fighter with a PS4 controller and I don't like it.
Fake 4K. Any game can run at 4K in PC from the last 10 years. From the video there playing on my 4K screen you can clearly see nothing hold up at 4K. To me it just 1080p scaled up.

Even if it were a DS3, I can not play comfortably with fighting games. I was so use to the arcades back in the day that using a controller just seems unnatural to me. Maybe I just really need practice more?
IDK....I still preffere smashing buttons and moving my fighter with a long joystick.

This news is solely to get your eyes to take a look, and pre release squash some of the negative press other games have had when restricting frame rates etc..."Oh the outrage the game is limeted in FPS etc..., so the developer is taking that off the table early on is all.
The art assets in this video are not High Resolution assets by any stretch of the imagination. Any 1080P game can be run at 4K resolution and captured with 4K Video. Not bashing the game I haven't played, but there's nothing special about it being 4K in and of itself.
Below look at the veggies in the carts...No bump mapping or specular worth a damn. This was not high character detail is all. Just standard 1080P medium resolution artwork.
Given how everything is more powerful, and the "building" ( design ) tools are far easier and offer much higher capabilities nowadays, one would expect to see an uplift in terms of graphics, at least on the characters and the foreground.
We aren't "demanding" Crysis 3 graphics, but neither are ok with Virtua Cop like graphics

It looks better than all of the previous Tekken games, so I would say that is good enough. Fighting games have never been the setters of new graphical standards. Nobody complained when Prey (2), a first person shooter which usually have high fidelity graphics, came out looking like a source game from 2006.
Nobody has seen any actual footage of the newest PC build, and that video in the OP is one year old.
Concerning the stuttering and jitters, now that is something I would be concerned about, however there are some significantly smoother videos out there, stutter and jitter is noticeable in quite a few instances but the latest Playstation build seems rather smooth and definitely smoother than the previously mentioned PC video.
Is there cross platform play? I know there was some controversy early on about this. I'm disappointed about the graphics, but we still get a tekken in 2017. Now, if this game looked like injustice2...i'd preorder. SFV gets away with low textures only because the animations are so fluid.

No, the game unfortunately does not support cross platform play.
Injustice 2 has some pretty impressive graphics, but some animations are just silly, I enjoy watching it being played though. SFV looks like it is made out of modelling clay, and all the animations have very noticeable frame intervals. If you were to see Tekken 7 running at a steady 60 fps you would realize that it has the smoothest looking animations.
