I currently have the Corsair CMPSU-850HX, purchased in 2010. Lately my PC resets somtimes when playing games. The CPU and GPU and memory seem to be ok according to stress tests. Also sometimes it doesn't happen at all. But maybe the PSU is on its way out? It is 6 or 7 years old now and has been used heavily. I do have a voltage meter how can I test it to be sure?
The old HX units have a history of dying when they get a certain age so yes you should replace it
Its an 8 year old model by now so no wonder they are dying
Looking at the system under your sig there is no need for you to go out and buy another 850 watt model
Less wattage is still more then enough as long as you are not doing SLI or Crossfire.
With so many other old HX dying and yours starting act up as well?
Sure seem that way but since its not my HX i cant tell if it really is dying or not.
I'm not complaining its been rock solid up until this point. Just want to be sure its my PSU which I think it is.
