Changes and Fixed Issues in Version 382.33
The following sections list the important changes and the most common issues resolved in this version. This list is only a subset of the total number of changes made in this driver version. The NVIDIA bug number is provided for reference.
[TITAN X][3D Vision][Windows 10 Creator's Update]: The Windows Store does not open when 3D Vision is enabled. [1906805]
[GeForce GTX 1080Ti][Prey 2]: Stuttering occurs during gameplay. [1902201]
[GeForce GTX 1070][Windows 10 Creator's Update]: In multi-display mode, extended monitors cannot be be put into sleep mode. [1916554]
[GeForce GTX 1060]: Blue-screen crash occurs pointing to driver (Nvlddmkm.sys) after the system reboots from sleep mode. [1814559]
[GeForce GTX 970][SLI]: SLI cannot be enable unless Norton 360 is disabled or Windows is booted in Safe Mode. [1919094]
I used to do that too but it has gotten much better recently (any constant Nvlddmkm.sys crashes notwithstanding). Now hardware rendering actually seems to have better responsiveness than software rendering, to me at least.
Never had this.
To be honest the last time I had a youtube crash with nvlddmkm.sys was back in 2011 when I was trying to watch a video on youtube while having the system subzero with LN2 and clocked very high near the chips' max
Sure there's nothing else wrong with your system ?

I never had it until the 380 branch of drivers. Even with acceleration off it was crashing constantly. It seems to be restricted to videos playing in an inactive tab, so I can hear the sound but not actually see the videos. I just picked up an RX570 for my other rig and it does not display this behavior when I put it in my main machine. The card is 100% stable otherwise and has no issue in games or other browsers, only chrome with youtube videos, but the crash is always nvlddmkm.sys.
Terrible drivers for me. Went from no longer being able to alt-tab out of games to ctd when exiting games. nvida drivers are taking a turn for the worst.
I'm really thinking that some of you have other issues going on with your systems, and somehow the driver upgrades are causing those issues to shine through. I normally update to the latest drivers, and I can alt+tab out of my games just fine, I don't get any weird crashes (or crashes in general, for that matter), and FB and Youtube can both be playing videos in inactive tabs with no issues. I'm seriously thinking that there is another issue present.
Can't count the times I had customers and friends saying "Bill my PC is suffering from a strange issue, my overclocks are fine I doublechecked them with various tools" and after a checkup I find them with either unstable overclocks or with malfunctioning hardware ( RAM is a killer, and have had plenty of setups and issues that would go undetected by both Windows memtest ( hcidesign ) & memtest86+ ( dos bootable ), some would even pass loops of prime95 just fine until proven guilty
Never had that issue and I'm on Maxwell. Then again I don't use Chrome, nor Windows 10. Firefox works fine with videos with hardware acceleration on Windows 7 x64; multiple tabs and all. I'm still on 378.78 though. Zero crashes.
Are the Nvidia drivers working better on Windows 7 than they are on Windows 10? I am thinking about switching back to Windows 7 because I can't seem to find a driver that doesn't have some issue that makes it frustrating to play games.

I see it all the time. People were saying left and right that their "overclock was stable until upgrading to Win 10", now it's the GPU driver taking the blame. Granted, I don't know if the people in this thread are running overclocks, but it's generally a fairly safe assumption on this site that people are running OC settings.
So out of curiosity: out of all of the people that are experiencing issues with the drivers, how many of you are running overclocked rigs?
Mine is not running overclocked currently. Typically the first thing I do whenever I start having problems is take everything back to stock. The other guy was talking about customers, anyone who take their PC in to get fixed by someone else is probably quite ignorant to things like this. I doubt there are many people on this website who would pay someone to fix their rig.
I doubt this is ever going away.
The option in the control panel only works with OpenGL games from the 400 series and every time you mention it in the forums you get a bunch of posters claiming it is all right and intended and there is nothing wrong.

Guess you can too benefit from giving your system to a far more experienced person to get your issues sorted out then as well since you can't seem to fix it
Seriously, if you feel that giving your system to a pro to get it fixed isn't right, then I guess your recommendation to people with issues is "keep it to yourself, and let it run problematically as it does" ?

This is a signature sign that you have a bad overclock, either due to electromigration (parts reaching EOL @ overclock), or an overheating issue at stock settings. Your CPU, RAM, or MB overclock can make this happen too.

No, it really isn't. Considering 1) It isn't overclocked, 2) both of my brand new less than 2 week old 1080ti's do it, and so does my 1050ti laptop, 3) The parts are all new and non-overclocked, and 4) it only happens in chrome and only with youtube, not any other kind of video.
Nothing is overheating, nothing is bad. Its a bug with the drivers. I can roll back to 379 series and it goes away completely.

Since its all new I guess I would ask did you set up the correct ram timings in the BIOS? Also turn off any power saving features on the CPU, have you calculated to make sure you're not over tasking the power supply?. The driver is merely bring the problem to light with your hardware.

Dude, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. I understand you may be trying to help, but this isn't helpful at all, its silly.
