Hello everyone,

Going to build a gaming pc on a Asus rog maximum VIII hero with I7 7700k.

Parts I have bought according to these are:

Nzxt s340 case,
Evga 750w gold gq v2 Psu,
Arctic Liquid Freezer 240 cpu cooler.

What should I get for rest ones? I want a pc for at least 3 years to play games without any problem. Oc is not a thing which I consider to do now. But I might do it after some time passes.

RAM:

STORAGE (Motherboard supports one pci-e m2 port and lots of sata)

Should I use nvme m2 pci ssd? Are they worthy at gaming? I was considering to buy one for system disc.

This product looks not expensive as others, but I have read some endurance problems about it.

GRAPHICS CARD

MONITOR

However I intend to wait for newly approaching rx vega for a maybe better budget performance option, I am thinking like I would buy nvidia anyway. I really want to buy a g sync monitor but they're really expensive and over my budget. So I am supposing to go 144 hz any quality monitor with a good graphics card.

Are these appropriate for my system ? What do you suggest.

Sorry for my bad english.

I would get the m2 nvme drive, go for samsung 960 over the intel 600p (if you have the spare cash // i've built a system with intel 600p and it was good enough, but still...)

I would not get the gsync monitor (absolute waste of money - only buy if you have tonnes of cash lying around doing nothing)

The 7700K has igpu yeh? So you can buy graphics later once you see what pricing is like, or just go the 1080 and you probably wont be dissapointed, plus you can start properly gaming straight away, which is what I would want if i was about to drop lots of cash on a gaming pc.
(I think cheapest vega is estimated at $400... so maybe there's not much money to be saved with vega)

psu is a little overkill but meh

check the ram is on the QVL (qualified vendor list) of the motherboard you're using

Thanks for answer mate. System is like this now,

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kYdZCy

Those are the monitor and graphics card that I would like to buy.

Except those 2 I have bought rest, and yeah Samsung lowered prices a bit on 960 evo so I got them as M2 pci-e SSD.

Got psu for harsh times like sli maybe in future, kidding. I just wanted to have good psu for my next builds.

What do you say about seahawk 1080 liquid cooled one? I can that gpu for amazon price here it's on sale till 29 may. Reviews are good and with that flash sale in a store at my country, I am really unsettled about wait or buy. I am doubted to buy gpu and monitor. Everyone says for 144 hz Gsync is required but why I shouldn't buy it?

I of course wanted to buy best items for lowest prices. All these ones are paid by credit card and will be paid for 5 or 6 months. So I really care about my money. And I am buying if it is the best solution for next 3 years without touching anything.

What should u advice me to buy as monitor? Is 144hz rate only enough? Do I really need gsync? They say without gsync there will be tears on low fps. Should I buy 2k or full HD? When I am between full HD 144 hz Gsync with tn panel and 2k or 4k ips only, which should I get for gaming? I'm so confused about this displaying stuff.

I can see that vega will not be my option, I just want it to come to lower nvidia based prices.

You will be generally disappointed with TN panels. While, they do generally have higher refresh rates, the viewing angles and colors just suck. 4k is the future, but if you buy 4k now, the 1080 doesn't really keep up, and will not age well with newer titles at 4k. a good high refresh rate 2k ips panel with Gsync will be plenty enough eye candy and will age well coupled with a 1080.

AMD unfortunately isn't really present in the high end market right now. It sucks because the monitor selection for freesync is much more cost effective. You just cant buy GPUs to push freesync monitors with higher resolutions.

I vote for the predator in a 27" with a 1080 or 1080TI

I don't think to pay over 500 bucks, so I was thinking about going tn but you are right tn would please me with high refreshes yet it won't give best colour and view angle.

So I should go for 2k monitor? What else for specs? What should be hz? Should it be gsynced? Freesync doesn't give any support for nvidia but should I buy it anyway maybe in time nvidia will support it?

What about msi seahawk gtx 1080 watercooled option? Do you oversee that nvidia really lower prices for 2 months ahead? It will cost me 600 euros but with 6 months divided pay and it's lower than amazon.de.

It depends on what you think is important, and what type of games you play.

Competitve FPS games will take advantage of the lower resolution and high refresh rate of the TN. While the higher resolution IPS is going to be better when you want to slow down and take in the scenery. I personally would not be buying a 1080p TN panel in 2017, but I am not a competitive FPS player. I also have not seen either monitor in person, so cant speak to the quality of either.

So what's best for lol, battlefield 1 and some other games like this?

TN low res high refreshes are really blinking at me.

1. Tn panel 1080p 144 hz Gsync

2. 2k ips

3.4k 60 hz monitor

Which is best for gaming after ten years of laptop gaming

and why.
It will be with gtx1080 I guess and I focus on using it at least 3 years without any problem.

Ultimately depends on what you'll be playing the most. Most fast paced FPS games benefit from 1080p 144hz (I use one for BF1, Overwatch etc.) Other non fast paced games you can get a 1440p monitor, 144hz too if you have the budget.

Got this system but when I was reading mobo's manual there was a place live qvl, and all rams were the quad kits. Did I buy wrong ram? Will corsair cmK16gx4m2b3000c15r be a problem? I need urgent advices.
it your RAM is not in the QVL, there is a chance (a very slim one) it wont run at advertised speeds, but it will probably at least plug and play at jdec standards and most likely do XMP too. A dual kit is going to be less stress on the IMC than a quad kit, so I really wouldn't sweat it. Some vendors are better than others at testing tons of different kits and including them on the QVL, others not so much.

Throwing another vote in for 1440p @ 144Hz. This is the best of all worlds. I definitely won't buy another monitor until I can afford something that meets this spec.

I've only ever had TN panels and don't really find an issue with viewing angles. I'm never trying to view my screens at much of an angle...

So Dell s2417dg is the best choice of all fo me.

Everyone accepts that it's a good monitor and well prepared for multipurpose gaming.

I have decided to buy MSI gtx 1080 seahawk x liquid cooled gpu cuz of was priced as other 1080's. What do you say about this? Going for 2k gsync with gtx 1080 watercooled looks fine for me.

Other choice is EVGA gtx 1080 FTW Hybrid (watercooled too).

I know that other air cooled ones are not performing worse than watercooled ones, yet I like to see that liquid cooler's pipe and system in case just for fun and for the same price of others nearly.

Computex is showing off today, I have waited till now already, let's see what will vega bring. At least I wait for nvidia gpu's to drop some bucks

Hi everyone again, about a week ago I was building a pc based on some bought parts in the topic. Yet I've sent mobo for some problems it has and they couldn't get me new one so I am thinking of cancelling Intel built which caused by Intel's explanations in computex.

Looks like 1151 chipset will be forgotten in 2 years so my 2000 $ built will be old even it performs well. So I was thinking of returning both Cpu and ram too and go for ryzen.

Intel' s this move shows us that multi core tasking is technology of close future. If problems of ryzen get lost it could be brighter for gamers.

The parts I have are

I7 7700K cpu
Corsair vengeance lpx 3000 mhz c15 16 gb ram
Arctic freezer 240 Cpu cooler
Nzxt s340 case
Samsung 960 evo m2 2280 NVMe psd
2x wd blue 1 tb hdd

Ram is not compatible with ryzen mobo's. So I should send it back.I am thinking of going with Asus rog crosshair 6 for arctic Cpu cooler compatibility Ryzen 1700 or 1700x for cpu, and gskill 3200 mhz ram. Gonna wait vega from now on for at least show off. Then I will decide with 1070 or 1080 with 2k gsync or vega plus freesync.
