Created in cooperation with Bitspower so as to meet the highest security and safety standards, the Hydro PTM+ is a unique, patented liquid cooled PSU. FSP claims that the the Hydro PTM+ is the world's first 80 Plus Platinum-certified, mass-produced liquid cooled PSU. [...] The unique liquid cooling system, once enabled, increases the power rating from 1200W to 1400W. But, with an array of integrated sensors, the Hydro PTM+ also excels at efficiency, when running in silent mode (below 50% load) it still delivers 600W without the use of a fan for cooling, thus remaining in complete silence. Expect to see more of these units at Computex, where we'll perhaps learn about this unit's pricing.
Yeah, glad to see a quality manufacturer do it like FSP. It'd have to be either FSP or Seasonic for me to think this was safe to use. I know it's niche but still interesting.
I want a water cooled mouse or hell what about a cd drive ..... makes about as much sense coming from the guy who liquid cooled just about everything regardless of oc........ quiet is nice but ive never heard a psu make that much noise to warrant this.
interesting, but a bit of a shame it still has a fan and looks to be the same general form factor as a air cooled PSU. minimized fan noise and reduced size are the benefits of water cooling i'm looking for.

I'd say water cooling in general isn't really "warranted" anyway for most of our already niche builds. It's just a "nice" to have even if maxing out your system while benching (which is rare in real world, gaming and most workstation work). You can mitigate pretty much all of the benefits with better case choice, fan choice and air flow choices. And since it's OCN, why not watercool everything? That's part of the fun. If it was easier and cheaper and aesthetically pleasing I would've watercooled 3.5" and 2.5" drives too; not just PCIE AIC's or M.2.

Good point. I've love to see this on something smaller, like an SFF case. That way they could increase the power density, lower the noise, etc. Would make more sense with SFF.

Could be worse. I mean at least it's not a watercooled case. As in, there's actual plumbing going through the case itself.
Actually now that I think about it, a watercooled case could be a great way to increase your surface area for heat dissipation. Maybe not so pointless after all...
My Seasonic is already silent/quiet with its hybrid fan, although it's usually the hottest part in my case and it would be nice to move that heat to my radiators. I don't see this taking off since it's such a niche product.

There's no significant benefit to doing this like there is with a cpu or gpu, it increases the length of your tubing, costs more money, increases the points of failure, adds more heat to your loop, and brings liquid to the absolute last place you want a leak.
I'm sure people said the same when SFF PSU's starting coming out. "Why would I pay MORE for this when my ATX PSU is perfectly fine?" "Who NEEDS 800W SFF PSU? LOLOLOL" "Why get a small case at all? Why would you water cool inside a SFF case? That's terrible." "Why would you put a GTX XXXXTi in there?", "WINDOWS on a case? BAHAHA who CARES about how the inside looks!", "Glass on a case? That's so stoooopid. Acrylic is JUST FINE"... yatta yatta. Throw in any other change or various ideas in different product lines in the past 10 years...same kinds of comments.

cpu overclocked custom loop and two Xp's in sli my psu fan has never turned on. this is a force.
