Both NVIDIA and AMD have officially announced live webcasts of Computex press conferences.

NVIDIA's CEO Jensen Huang's Keynote will take place a day sooner than AMD's CEO Lisa Su's press conference. Does it mean NVIDIA is trying to steal the spotlight from Radeon RX Vega showcase (which was confirmed by Raja Koduri?). Well, we should find out very soon.

pretty sure everyone knew of AMD keynote . . .

It's language like this that poisons dialogue everywhere. The press really needs to tone down its insinuations. Its almost as bad as political commentary from mainstream news channels.

Well... I can still optimistically hope for civil conversation this time around while cynically expecting the usual disparaging turf war that happens every time.

Not gonna happen. Most threads become useless the second any Nvidia vs. AMD or Intel vs. AMD arguments come up. Then add to that the type of users that flock to those threads who are "always" right and too stubborn to admit they made a mistake.

Best to sit back, take in the tech specs and info for yourself, then just watch with some popcorn

*55 minutes into the 60 minute presentation which has been entirely datacenter, deep learning, and autonomous driving, the lights suddenly dim dramatically*

JHH: "I have a surprise announcement for everyone."

*Laser lights as Geforce logo appears on the presentation screen*

"This leather jacket I have been wearing for several conferences does not actually exist. I want to be the first to introduce you to Geforce Leatherworks."

*The word "leatherworks" is appended after Geforce*

"Leveraging the incredible power of The Cloud, Nvidia has created a one-of-a-kind rendering program that allows you to [air quotes] 'put on' leather jackets of all shapes and sizes that are completely indistinguishable from real clothing! Just activate your Nvidia Shield, download the Leatherworks app, and we'll take care of the rest. It's that easy!"

"Within the app are additional options to change the texture, color, and designer logo on your leather jacket."

*Presentation slide changes to a picture of the in-app UI, which appears rife with microtransactions*

"However, that's not all."

*Lights again dim, and presentation goes back to just the word "Geforce" and the Geforce logo*

"We are also introducing Leatherworks Founder's Edition, which, for a $150 annual subscription, gives you 50% off all purchases within the app and grants you access to a special skin which lets your leather coat look just like mine."

*"Geforce" text changes to "Geforce Leatherworks Founder's Edition"*

i have no doubt nvidia will talk AI, self driving cars, or whatever the nvidia flavor of the week is. fyi, you'll be seeing a 4 billion dollar jacket that day.

however i somewhat expect a teaser, "no, nothing geforce . . until next quarter." which will be an announcement of an announcement for the next quarter . . . . gotta keep stringing them along.

That will be 55 mins of the 60 mins presentation, until he pull out a card that is capable of doing all these, and called it a new Titan V.

JHH: For just $1500, you can process AI deep learning as fast as a pair of Titans Xp, worth $2400 just yesterday.

Well we will never knows, and AI deep learning will be a good excuse for them to get away with the price inflation since it is not a gaming card.

Excited for both presentations, let's see what comes out of this. Seems to me it's a great time to be a hardware enthusiast these days

Obligatory

Though I will most likely wait for the leatherworks refresh version which will come 4 months after with a 15% increase in leathering, or for AMD's leather-free open sourced version.
