It's going to be oriented for claw grippers according to their Wolverine hint, so it's likely going to be a Spawn/Xornet revision (if the shape alone didn't convince you).

Hopefully it has a better sensor, side grips and switches than the Xornet 2, as it is my favorite shape.

Edit: Computex photos

Looks like they will be a good cm longer than the Xornet/Spawn. Not sure how I feel about that.

Xornet II

Edit:

MM520 (aka Fat Spawn) and MM530 (Alcor refresh) are both available for pre-order on Amazon US.

They have an enduring track record of failures, more so than Razer or Thermaltake combined.
Very true, but from what I've seen it's pretty hard to really screw up implementing a 336x. If that's what they're using, it would be much more impressive if they manage another poor implementation than if they do a good job.

considering the xornet 2's 3320 has heavy smoothing, either one of those would be an upgrade

"implementation quality" basically exists because of sensors like the 3320 that come with bad defaults that the firmware has to know to turn off. or because of mice like razer's that run that mice at maximum internal DPI at all times and decimate it in firmware, resulting in the sensor itself applying unnecessary smoothing. or sometimes because of sensors with bad liftoff mechanisms like the 3090. the 336X, 3310, and 3988 don't have this kind of problem, the default state of the sensor is sane

If this is going to be something different from the cheapo Xornet 2 series then more power to them, but if it's going to be another cheapo version known as "Xornet 3" using an updated 3320 sensor, then they can be permanently damned to mouse hell forever more.

The ball is in their court now, either smash through a winner using a 3360 sensor or simply pack up and go home CoolerMaster

How to make a Super Xornet: *knowing Cooler Master they will probably do the polar opposite.lol

1-Put the hump in the middle just like most legendary mice have. It's the natural hand shape (hump in the back is just alienating most grip styles out there. (Think of Zowie Z series vs EC/ FK series. We all know which are the two models that sell like hotcakes and have achieved legendary status and it surely is not the one with the hump in the back).
2-Put 3360 sensor more or less 1-2 cm more forward (below the first or second dpi button) so that we can properly fingertip/claw it. As it is, the sensor is so far back that I at least have to grip it much further back to simulate a more forward sensor position but then the mouse becomes useless as I can't reach thumb buttons and scroll wheel without readjusting grip and losing control of the mouse while doing it
3-Put thumb buttons 1cm more to the back or below the highest peak (hump) of the mouse (this should be a must in every mouse). Most office mice have perfectly placed thumb buttons, gaming mice are a nightmare in this regard.
4-less width on the right-back side. It stretches the pinky finger too much just like many people have said. I would prefer to have the pinky finger almost under the ring finger, just like in the G PRO or Zowie FK2. Besides, it's much easier to lift the mouse up with the G PRO and FK2, the right side of the Xornet II is horrible in this regard (left side is ok).

IMO this is all it takes to make it a legendary mouse but knowing Cooler Master don't get your hopes up.

These forums really don't like small companies or at least they don't like Cooler Master for some reason.
Pesonally i am extremely happy with every mouse i have owned from Cooler Master.
I still have and use the Alcor and the Xornet 2.
Actually Xornet 2 is my prefered driver for OW and CS:GO since it is so lightweight and cheap that i can replace whenever something breaks, but still nothing has broken, going strong for 3.5 years now of everyday use.
The only "bad thing" CM mice have is high LOD. But it is not even that high to be unusable. I have seen a lot of more "fail" mice from Razer, with jumping cursor or cursors that stop tracking, i have seen mice from corsair with click latency that makes you wanna throw the mouse out of the window, mice with crap ergonomics from logitech (g-pro) or alien looking ones that are way to heavy to be used in any fps game (g502). I mean cut them some slack guys. Cooler Master mice have always decent ergonomics, weight and are extremely durable (one of the few companies that still produces durable mice).

I just wish they re-release the Recon mouse in the future with a 3360 sensor.

As for those that say the 3320 on Xornet 2 is crap i am sorry but i have never had any troubles tracking or flicking with the specific sensor on a good quality mouse pad.

*EDIT* Even their Reaper mouse that is big as boat and heavy like a tank with an offcenter sensor is decent and usable in games like HOTS, WoW, Arma 3 etc.

This thread reminds me that I would like it if Elecom payed Areson to do a MDUX mouse line refresh. It's my go to office mouse after I replaced the Paten/Fatal1ty 2020. I tried to use the Xornet II for that role too. But ehhh, it's not very good.

Cut them some slack when they more often than not just dump a mouse because they're too incompetent to fix their firmware which limits the sensor performance of the majority of their mice to sub 3m/s? Yeah, same.

Nothing to do with feelings. It's my personal opinion. I like their mice and i use them just fine. As for the tracking speed, i don't move my mouse with 23113123 m/s speed when i flick, so they are fine for my mediocre gaming capabilities. It's fine you don't like them, don't buy them. No need to get toxic and ironic.

*EDIT* Still Razer mice and logitech have had worse fails.

Eh, you're treating CM like they're small fries while they've been around longer than Razer (1992) and are OEM partners with the likes of nVidia, AMD, and EVGA... They've been in this game awhile and are one of the most profitable computer chassis manufacturers on the market.

They make a lot of good products but, like Antec, are showing their age in their bread and butter markets (PSUs, heatsinks, and chassis). While they had some nice keyboard launches with CM Storm, they haven't been able to produce a mouse firmware that doesn't severely limit otherwise solid products (like my CM Spawn, which I love/hate). If they could get the firmware right (or, you know, at the very least, release the Spawn 2 we were supposed to get in like, 2013?) then there might be some ground to say they're trying, but...

Personally I don't have anything against Cooler Master or any other brand but it's clear they need to hire some new talent for their Gaming Mice division (as do most brands actually). As an example I saw their MasterMouse S at a nearby computer shop. Mouse looked pretty nice, light weight, etc. Shape was far from perfect but I was ready to buy it anyway out of curiosity and ok price but when I turned it around and saw the sensor position I almost threw up... needless to say I got another mouse instead. A company that doesn't learn from their mistakes, doesn't know a thing about competitive play and doesn't listen to their clients complaints should be ran over by all the other companies who give their best and all their effort to produce winning products.

That said, is not like Cooler Master is doomed or something. Bring us a well thought, well designed, great mouse and we will praise it. There's nothing to it. Nothing against the brand, just sending out some though love.
