Can you seriously say you don't expect bling from the gaming brand? rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gif There's going to be workstation boards and non-ROG boards available. You were never going to buy a ROG in the first place, so what's the issue? I do like LEDs but I never liked ROG's design motifs either. There's still plenty out there and coming for me but not enough for me to exaggerate how it adds so much cost to a board. If anything these HALO type products make the rest of the simpler boards more affordable or subsidize them since they're probably more at cost with thinner margins than these higher end bling HEDT boards. That's pretty much price discrimination in economics.

I just want a board that pushes things to the max. That was Crosshair last generation... for an extra 1-2%. Unless you went LN2 of course, otherwise the Sabertooth was fine and good to that 99%. I only got the Crosshair (refurbished from Microcenter, was like $150) because I fried my Sabertooth from an unfortunate coolant leak and wanted to see what the fuss was about.

From what I can tell, the only difference between the X370 Prime Pro and Crosshair is a Type C USB header, 'SupremeFX' audio, and p-state control, plus the extra shrouds and LED headers.

From what I've read, the performance difference and OC potential between the two is pretty minimal. Do the extra USB ports, 'FX' audio, and p-state control (along with 'l33t gamer' bling) really justify an extra $100? I don't think so. If I were to shift to X370 today and get an ASUS board, it would be the Prime Pro. Seems like the Sabertooth vs Crosshair days all over again. A 1-2% difference with a 30-40% premium.

Its for a custom parallel high-speed NVME but the system comes with a 2 m.2 riser that fits it. it may well be a full x16 pcie connection for a drive card in competition to what intel is doing with xpoint.

No coffee since its evening here, took a while for the brain claws to come out.

If this was an Intel X299 board, I'd say "Optane" (Xpoint) 'DIMM' module. But on an AMD board, weird, yah. I'm sure specs will be coming soon to detail it out now that they did the whole Threadripper livestream.

As a Rampage V Edition 10 owner I can say that I have absolutely madly fallen in love with the Zenith board. Much more so than the RVIE
