Yeah same thing I am experiencing. Afterburner only controls the far left fan and I absolutely hate Precision X but it's the only way to achieve full functionality. HWInfo latest beta update provides ICX sensor info though.

Mines acceptable temperature wise but only because it's ramping the fans up way higher than my STRIX comparatively. Mine crashes as soon as it hits 2070 but is stable at 2050. Doesn't matter because I undervolt it to 1900ish @ 0.925v as the extra 100mhz is literally 1.5FPS gaming at 4K.

EDIT: I'm gonna decide this weekend if I want to keep it or my STRIX or maybe even try the Amp Extreme. The STRIX is really good.

I'd like get the STRIX. I'll have to see if Newegg will let me return this first.

Yes, only precision will make you control all the fans separately. I come from a strix, so far happy with my purchase. Reaches 2050 mhz, but playing long time low to 2037 mhz, hwinfo64 registers all sensors and all fans separately.
I liked more afterburner, but I will have to use the precision for the moment

Can you please say what's better in the STRIX? Because I ordered FTW3 2 days ago and I'm wondering if I've made the right decision.

Try my settings above on slave mode
Master switch left... slave right
Two different bios's
At the end of the day Nvidia caps them all anyway
So a solid 2050 gpu mhz is good on air

My STRIX is just way quieter. Like no comparison. It can stay in the 72C range with almost 500 less RPM. This FTW3 sounds as loud as a FE to me. I could undervolt a FE and use an aggressive fan curve and be no worse off. I can't reduce fan speed on this FTW3 because the cooler is inadequate and heats up to 80c fast.

Also I'm just not happy with having to use Precision X. Overall just not satisfied with this card and I'm gonna sell it and keep the STRIX unless I can mount a G12 to it without a shim.

Copied this from 1080Ti thread explains what Nivida did to put limits on card
These cards have built in HW monitoring modules directly on die. This kinda does whatever it wants to trim the power usage so you can't even see the throttling in software monitoring, only in reduced performance.

The higher voltage bins than 1.062 are likely to be tripping internal power or Vrel limitations which you cannot see. The biggest difference is when you get these cards under water and drastically drop the operating temperatures. The performance of the higher voltage bins actually goes up.

TLDR: 1.062v on air means something very different to 1.062v under water despite the same clockspeeds.

So 2 slot, 2.5, or 3 slot solutions are just how the majority of heat is distributed at first (Card vs Fans)
Eventually with O/Cing the card to the limit on air fans will come on
Water is the only way to get to next level of preformance

Can you define 'next level'? Gamers Nexus reviews showed that some air-cooled 1080 Tis are outperforming Hybrid ones and 'when' there are performance gains it's not really much higher, within the 5% range.
