Hey, should we start a database, or add to an existing database to grab PPD data using various driver versions at the same clock speeds to see which driver prevails?

I like the idea of adding that to the GPU PPD one we have (I reference it all the time):

Only problem I see is that for quite a few of those cards, there is a pretty scant number of submissions, so if we split that up into driver versions, we're gonna have some really, really small sample sizes. I'm on board otherwise.

Adding driver versions would be great, especially for AMD GPUs. In the last year the AMD drivers have increased PPD by roughly 30% in Windows. There was one big jump last summer, and then another smaller jump with 17.2.1. The AMD Linux driver, at least for Polaris, has greatly improved over the last year. This time last year the 480 in Linux was roughly equal to a 7970 in Windows, and now it is nearly equal to a 480 in Windows.

i'd love to see nvidia driver comparisons. especially since i don't move away from my 369.49 quadro drivers. i'll install new ones that come out for like 30min to test em and they usually end up unstable for some reason with my overclock, that plus running a quick FAHBENCH usually shows newer drivers are slower.
