Trying to decide which version to go to.
I am using the Windows 7 ,last month I tried to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10,but the results were terrible. At first, my Windows 10 was locked.that means I can't operated the computer properly.but the upgraded Windows 10 program is completely different from the Windows 7 program, to be honest, I'm still used to Windows 7.because I often play games on my computer (Windows 7) ,
To avoid computer crashes, you can reset Windows 7 password before installing ,

Hi,
Heck yeah still using win-7 for at least another 2 years until EOL smile.gif
10 is okay as a toy but all this updates and builds pushing gets really old

Classic shell although I didn't use it very long is dying from being wore out by the new build stuff too
More freeware to follow pretty soon there will be no more and if it's not in the MS store then you'll be out of luck free app or payware.

10 will be as closed as apple and android devices are.

Just need to pick a different version of 10. 2016 LTSB does not have the store or feature updates.

Too bad the licensing model is monthly subscription based.

... it may be an issue for some but not for me. There are other ways.

I still use windows 7 for my main gaming rig. And windows 10 on my htpc. I have no issues with windows 7 and it isn't as annoying as windows 10 can be.

I'm still using W7 and will be until I have to upgrade.

I tried W10 when it first came out and hated it. W10 is essentially W7 and W8 combined. I mean come on...W10 still has Internet Explorer as a web browser while adding Edge or whatever their new browser is called. You also have to install various other programs or Apps to get W10 to be a proper OS. I don't like the user interface when you open up My Computer either. It's disgusting.

IE is a requirement for backwards compatibility with many school, government, and business websites. Edge is actually a pretty decent browser. Not seeing a problem with having both. You can always remove the one you don't use (or not install it in the first place if you know what you're doing).

10 has literally every feature 7 had built in. if you require "various other programs or Apps to get W10 to be a proper OS", the same would be true for 7.

The standard user interface for "This PC" (formerly "My Computer") is indeed hideous. Good thing you can permanently fix it in about 12 seconds with no outside tools.

There are a (very) few reasons to prefer 7 over 10, but the ones you cited are basically just FUD.

Mouse input felt better in Win 7. I'm picky when it comes to input latency. How to toy with and optimize Win 10 way more than I did my Win 7 partition to get it nearly the same, but it's still slightly worse.

I've tried to use Gimp a few times, but always turn back to Photoshop, just can't get a good workflow on that program. Something about it just seems counter-intuitive. Any tips? tongue.gif
