Blizzard has just announced that the remastered version of StarCraft will be released on August 14th. In order to celebrate this announcement, Blizzard released a new live-action trailer and the first gameplay trailer for StarCraft: Remastered that can be viewed below.
StarCraft: Remastered will feature remastered graphics and audio that will bring a modern look and feel to the timeless classic, with widescreen UHD support for up to 4K resolution. Other updates will include new illustrations to enhance storytelling in the StarCraft and StarCraft: Brood War campaign missions; advanced matchmaking; full connectivity to Blizzard's gaming network for social features and updates; cloud saving for campaign progress, custom maps, replays, and keybinds; support for eight new languages in addition to the original five; and more.
50 million profit they will get from this and the diablo 3 necro class and hearthstone weekly is not enough to hire a few people to do all that cinematic work ;p
activision loves its profit margins.
I like how most people so so crazy over a new class in daiblo 3 and drop $15 on it, when other companies offer free updates with free classes, and are just as fun if not more so imo than D3

This is called greed and it always end badly. I must admit i love Blizzard games, i bought that dlc knowing it's not fair from them. If you want to support a good ARPG, buy Grim Dawn, i did.
$15? I think for the amount of work they've shown for the remaster warrants $15.
I'm really, really excited for this. I'm going to play the remaster so damn much. Hopefully this breathes new life in the User Map Settings scene!
Those were the absolute BEST custom maps I've ever had the pleasure of playing, hands down.

Not possible to get the SC1 experience with the turd that is the SC2 engine. There's certain "bugs" in SC1 that turned into crucial game mechanics (like many things in older games) e.g. being able to attack on the fly with Muta's while never completely stopping.
Are they going to include the map editor remastered too? Spent many hours on that and earned many 'F' grades in school because of it lol. The good old days.
Because it takes insane amounts of work to do so. Remember it is a remaster which is supposed to not change the gameplay in any way.
If you have ever played any arcade map with Starcraft 1 Units in Starcraft 2 you would see it does not work.
There are some features, bugs and bad AI pathing/ behaviour that make Starcraft 1 the game it is today.

Edit:
You could call Blizzard greedy but after all they are not. 15 dollar is far less than expected and very fair. The original game is even free and works in win10 and newest macOS.
It is much more than a simple remaster from ubisoft like heroes of might and magic 3 with "HD" graphics which doesn't even include the addons...

TBH, just from the gameplay, it doesn't look that higher quality graphics. Maybe it's the video, but I don't know.
Still might get it anyway.
