Ok I got it now. I left it on high power switch and it worked. Just testing now. It keeps crashing on Turbo with Valley benchmark, so it looks like it's not going to work well with my card. More testing needs to be done.

I might be remembering wrong. I guess I did flash the high power BIOS if that's the one that worked for you. Could you post some updates on your performance? I seem the be the only one here still using the AIO bios on my card, since i saw the last two people say they reverted back. Let me know if you can get 1750MHz stable

All I remember is getting the same error as yourself, and just moving the switch over and it worked. I'm just hoping you backed up both of your BIOS with ATIWinflash and not GPU-Z

I still want to ramp up the voltage and see what I get... Max temp in games of like 46C with my CPU at 4.4....

Just saw your post where you said you kept the AIO BIOS. Rock on!

Isn't voltage control possible by powerplay? It's explained here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1633446/preliminary-view-of-amd-vega-bios/250#post_26297003

Yeah I started doing that. I just thought I would be able to reach the AIO speed now that I'm under water. I can only dream.

I think that's exactly what it was, high power needs to be flashed on high power switch. And I did back up both my high and lower power BIOS through winflash as I noticed the size when I backed up with GPU-Z.

So far as I mentioned before Turbo is no go so probably no 1750 for me. I was about to flash back to Air bios but I found for me with the AIO bios the ram stays at a higher clock when I overclock. When I tried with the Air and set it higher than 1020 the VRAM would revert back to 800 or 500 depending on the speed of the GPU.
With the AIO, I can hit 1105 with my GPU at P6 @ 1702 and P7 @1722. Any higher and it will go back to 800 or 500. Funny how my GPU then clocks higher steady at 1705 but with the HBM2 at 1105 it hovers around 1695 with a few spikes over to 1705.

Im back with that fcking beautiful rig after 7hrs of work on it #Vegasme Rkingsmiley.pngking.gif

For now, Im gonna edit the Powertable (any recomendation ?) and try to reach 1730-1100. If i can then i hope 1800-1100 but i dont think i can reach it (maybe more for the hbm, maybe I'll see).

Sorry Gup, I can't find what you want (i2c) on Aida64 extreme and it's the same for MSI AB (4.3). I hope someone finds what you wanted sadsmiley.gif

I tried that and have no idea if I did it right or if it works with 17.8.2 drivers. Yes, heck yeah the AIO bios. I wanna get the voltage upped though so it can run at the same speeds.

I did a benchmark at 4.4ghz and this is what I got:

Core clock 1,686 MHz Memory bus clock 1,100 MHz

https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/21853420?

I have no throttling but it's still a shame that the Vega 56 is caught up to me. Do I need to downgrade drivers just to ramp voltage up? That means I lose PUBG FPS too doh.gif

I got a AC vega. Do you think I should flash LC bios on the low (right) switch and OC like yours? OR do you think I'll get throttling? Someone told me it might not be worth it since the LC Bios will only consume more energy but throttle

Right now 17.8.2 made my card throttle too low and not even do this basic overclock I have on the hp AIR bios.

With water it seems that it allows a higher TDP or something. I have to apply memory clocks in crimson and then I use watt-tool too set P6 and P7 to 1660 and 1700. It never hits 1700 but this seems to hold it at 1680 which is great.

A little more testing and I can confirm with the 17.8.2 drivers I just can't hit 1750 with the AIO bios. It's not a total loss though like I've mentioned before as I can have the HBM2 at 1105 without it dropping to 500 to 800 during test runs.

From my testing, looks like 1730 is my ceiling. I've set my P6@1702 and P7@1732 and it seems to be ok, but need further testing. In firestike, the highest clock I witnessed was 1729 without crashing. In games, witcher 3 hovers between 1669 to 1691, and Rise of the Tomb Raider is around 1704-1711.

Here is my old FSultra benchmark with my Air bios.

fsultra_zpsikgo3jkp.png

And now with the AIO bios with the settings mentioned above.

fsultra%20oc%201702%201732%201105_zpshdemy1nh.png

I am kinda bummed it wont reach 1750, but considering what the bios has done to help me I guess I can't complain. Plus the full EK wb is a lot quieter with either air or the AIO with the 120 rad/fan combo.

Hi guys, just stopping in to make this thread [Official]. Thank you dagget3450 for a nice OP with info. thumb.gif

Been watching the thread and following owners results. I'm still interested myself, waiting on the Sapphire Nitro while I gather funds.

Keep the new GPU pics coming for us tech voyeurs. smile.gif
