[Official] Vega Frontier / RX Vega Owners Thread - Page 304

Alright so I just found a vega 64 for 550€ right in my country. I'm selling one 290x for 170€ so that brings me to just 380€.

I'm expecting a lot of noise from this cooler. Lets hope its not that bad. I dont feel like shelling out another 104€ for a waterblock and void my warranty.

On the plus side, I get to keep my freesync monitor. I'll just have to dial down settings for VR compared to the 1080ti.

It seems they are falling in price all over europe. Getting ready to receive third party cards maybe?

Waterblock shouldn't void the warranty unless damage is caused by it directly. The anti-tamper sticker is there to notify the RMA team that the cooler had been removed and needs to be checked in more detail (according to GN at least).

Though to get the best out of it I'd recommend a water block/AIO at least. I'm thermally limited with the stock cooler.

Thanks for the info. I'll see how the cooler behaves and will consider it.

Whats an average firestrike graphics score for the air 64? (1080p)

I've got between 23K and just over 25K Graphics score with:
P7 1692MHz @ 1050-1150mv (low score at 1050mv, high at 1150mv)
HBM 1050MHz @ 1050mv
Those were done on my old 3930K system prior to LC BIOS flash so using the 8730 Air BIOS.

Apparently the beta drivers are a bit ****. I'd drop back to 10.1's or 9.3's and test to confirm HBM is not just balked by drivers.

HBM is always 1.35V on the 64 bios but the memory voltage seems to set the minimum core voltage and can help stability for some people.
