So it seems overclock to overclock, my yet to arrive vega 64 will only give me 75% more performance, for 550€ 4 years later. :\

I was running 290x crossfire. One vega is superior.

Honestly, on average Vega 64 reference unit, with typical undervolting (without lowering clocks) in typical air cooled case (Fortress FT05, Noctua D15, 6700K @1.28V) how low temperatures during QHD gaming/full stress will be achievable? What about noise? I am hyped and I want to buy Vega as soon as possible because my GTX 1060 is not enough for my QHD Freesync monitor, however I am worried about buying reference card...

If you are sticking with AIR I can't recommend a reference card. Wait for partner cards.

If you are worried about noise, then there's two solutions, first is wait for AIB and their reviews.

Second and IMO the preferable one is to get a reference and stick the Morpheus 2 on it with dual good 140mm fans. Very good at keeping the temp numbers down.

Well I bit the bullet on a RX VEGA 64 Limited Edition yesterday. Now waiting eagerly for delivery biggrin.gif .

Seemed to me the best deal I may see this side of Christmas. £515 delivered, ~£11 cashback, got Prey and Wolfenstein II with it (worth ~£40 in my estimates, so card is net ~£465 IMO).

The decision was concreted after having experienced the MSI GTX 1080 EK X. I missed the lack of variable refresh rate greatly, wasn't inclined to get into hassle of swapping my MG279Q for similar G-Sync monitor. Also missed some of the features of AMD driver panel which didn't have equivalents in nVidia drivers.

I was also lucky in that the Fury X sold at no loss. The MSI GTX 1080 EK X had a missing screw on WB so got a discount, I was able to sell it for more than I got it so it bolstered my "pot of £" to make the jump to VEGA viable.

As OCuk had a weekly special on EK full cover block I've also ordered that.

Cheers mate smile.gif .

It's gonna be such a shame to pull the Limited Edition blower cooler from card. All images I have seen make it look so nice, even the IO plate with it's stylized venting and black color looks so snazzy IMO. I'm envisaging I may have to put up a shelf near my PC to display the cooler biggrin.gif, be such a shame to hide it in a box .

Well, I am a Vega 56 owner and am quite happy with it. (Came from 2 x Fury Non X.) I have the power limit set to 50+, max temp at 80C and the max fan speed set to 4000 rpm. This has given me the best performance so far and I do not notice any fan noise at all. (I am different from most though, I tend to notice things like clicking and such over start up fan hush.) 50% better performance that a Single R9 Fury Nitro. smile.gif

I keep it at 1700mhz/1100hbm, 1000mv which gives me 1550mhz/1100hbm, 1000mv. Frequency doesn't fluctuate and it's nice and cool. Wayyyyy better than the old 290x.
