I spend most of my time on forums checking everybody's sweet work out. Its great to see new ideas and find those things that seem so simple it makes you wish it was your idea. There are alot of new trends popping up like RGB lighting, my last rig was decked out. But I prefer a more subtle style. Subtlety as it turns out can become boring or overshadowed by flashier things.

In order for these builds to stand it there needs to be an attention to detail. Unique ideas that stand out. It's can be hard to come up with original ideas with so many talented people working, it seems like everything's already been done. I'm not going to be reinventing the wheel but I do hope hat I can come up with something wholly unique when you look at the sum of the parts. Sorry for droning on. I'll keep the text light from here on out.
Goal number one is to keep the entire PC in shades of black. To keep from looking boring and washed out I'm going to use as many different textures and shades as possible.

There are lots of materials at our disposal these days and many can be used with very little tools. Cnc machines are wonderful and those builds will always be epic, but for most of us that opportunity doesn't present itself.
Everything I do will be done with simple hand tools. I won't drag out the process but if anybody has any questions I would be glad to help.

First up is a simple proof of concept. A standard Samsung Evo SSD the entire mod was finished in less than 20 minutes. Hopefully much more to come. Thanks for checking it out.

No it build is complete with a sf600 sfx power supply. It's already black which is nice but I wanted to transition from the small scale to something a little larger. I say a little cause this thing isnt much bigger than an SSD. But plenty of flat surface.

And a little tease of what's to come.

I've wrapped all the heatsinks in faux wood grain and put some logos on them. Tested it the look with some Corsair Vengeance led ram. Happy with the results so far. Next up will be some case mods. I'm working out some details. Thinking about doing a case labs style imitation build with some side mounted radiators in a bitfenix Phenom. Used it on my last build and love the profile of that thing.

Hey-o!

I prefer subtle things as well. Not so much into the RGB craze.

One question here, aren´t you worried about the faux wood grain encapsulating the heat rather than dissipating it? Really like the look of it though, what is it that you used for the ssd (before wood) and on the PSU?
