Have a I7 6850k paired with ASRock Fatal1ty X99 Professional Gaming i7 LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Motherboard. I just recently flashed the BIOS to the newest firmware available and was hoping that I would be able to OC the cpu even a little bit. Everything I do seems to not work to OC this cpu. There is a preset option for turbo 4.0GHZ setting that asrock has for overclocking. When I select that and reboot the machine it gets stuck on loading windows. I like to call it the donut of death but it will either freeze when loading back up for never stop loading windows it will just keep spinning and spinning. I am fairly confident that it isn't that the CPU is bad because I have had a x99 MSI motherboard prior to this and was able to oc this cpu to 4.0GHZ. But I am not really sure why it will not boot up after I select the turbo 4.0GHZ option. I have even selected the turbo 4.0GHZ option and made sure that the voltage is set to auto and it does the same thing. I know that there are options to manually OC it but I honestly wouldn't know what to set it to but I can if I knew what to set the voltage to. Any suggestions?
