Granted I've had to use it a few times after I got counterfeit items but overall, it's easy for anyone to screw over the buyer for whatever reason they see fit so long as they throw a tiny fit.
All the stores trying to sell stuff for retail price, the huge risk of getting counterfeit items now and no policing done by eBay, the new fees and costs just to sell something, has kept me away from them. I used to buy stuff off there all the time, even used stuff but now days it's just a haven for scam artists and price gougers who inflate prices of stuff then everyone else follows suit.
The pricing being the biggest issue, most people just end up going to Amazon such as myself. Who's going to go on ebay to buy something brand new and pay the same price as it costs on Amazon and pay a buttload for shipping and have to wait a week or more for stuff.
eBay will never be what it used to be, nothing on the site adapted for the change in how we buy stuff on the internet.
Dunno the last time you tried selling on there but the fee's have gotten worse. Fee to put up a listing, sellers fee after the item is bought, if you want more than a couple pictures it costs x amount per picture and I feel like I'm forgetting a 4th fee they through on there.
