Thoughts on Thermaltake TteSports Ventus R?

I know TT usually makes low-tier mice with terribad build quality, but this one caught my attention, mainly because of the shape and dimensions (113.52 X 60.45 X 37.40 MM). Fingertip so I like short mice and I'm not too picky about the sensor.

Apparently it's not very popular. Any reason I shouldn't go ahead and give this mouse a try?

3310 pixart, 20m omrons, 98g (I'm assuming less without cable), simple ambi shape, m4/m5 buttons, main buttons separated from the shell (sorta).

I guess it has the common firmware bugs that Tt and the other same level manufacturers offer. Scroll wheel looks filmsy and it possibly has a terrible encoder. 98 g is 100% without the cable, and it's a lot for this size. You can give it a try though, I might be wrong.

thermaltake is cancer, their products are popular in latin america because theyre really cheap, but their design and quality are bottom tier, that mouse may have a good sensor, but Id bet it is somehow messed up by their "engineers", just like their 3090 saphira, it performs like an old pmw3305 mouse, like a kinzu or a4tech.

I've tried some of their products, the shock headset, chronos headset, "black" mouse, level 10 mouse, ALL of them a collection of cheap plastic and construction, questionable design choices and performance.

In my opinion, it's the best PMW3310 mouse. I base that opinion on it's shape, weight, features and price. Just don't set the LOD slider to anything but the lowest setting.

Are you being absolutely serious right now? I'm asking for real. Do you know if there's any removable weight inside it?

Can't comment on the other products but the Ventus X is a good mouse. The few software issues it had are fixed right now, so at least they got one product right.
I've heard stories about issues with the R in Ventus X thread but have not tried it myself.

Haven't noticed any bugs on mine but I don't use it since it was too small.

Only 75 grams as well.

Main buttons feel nice and crisp. Has a cheaper alps encoder on the scroll wheel. Sounds loud but it's solid with noticeable steps and no wobble at all. Side buttons are a little stiffer than I'd like but nothing too bad.

It felt like a smaller more rounded g303.

Thanks mate, definitely sounds interesting! Glad I wasn't totally right on this.

Just a shame there's a 3310 in it. If it had a 3360 I'd probably get one

I don't really get this 3310 hate. Don't know about TT"s implementation for this specific mouse, but a good 3310 is fine for me, I'm not even sure I could feel the different between a well implemented 3310 and 336x if they would be in the exact same shell. Maybe I really suck but I don't need >3.3 m/s (or whatever max 3310 was) speed.

3310 is fine, but I just can't justify getting a 3310 mouse in 2017. At least some justification is needed once the mice start piling up.

lol "implementation".

Also the price is actually appropriate for where it's meant to compete($35-40 range).

Yes, I'm serious. Cable needs to be replaced though. It's not MasterMouse S bad though.

Debounce can be set in the software. 4-32ms.

I'm not able to answer the other two questions atm.

Found this comment on Reddit: "They fix it the LOD with the last firmware update, it is adjustable on software. At the lowest setting is about 1 DVD, better than my Fnatic Flick G1 (uses same sensor, the sensor has the high LOD behavior), it feels like a MX518"

Are you still using it or is it collecting dust?

Hi! I'm who make that comment on Reddit.

I took some pictures (user request) comparing G Pro and Ventus R.

Width. The real width is the distance between your pinky and thumb while holding the mouse.

Length. Is the base of the mouse where makes contact with the mouse pad.

G Pro width = 5 cm / 1.96 in

Ventus R width = 5 cm / 1.96 in

G Pro length = 10 cm / 3.93 in

Ventus R length = 9.7 cm / 3.8 in

Hump shape compare

Hump height Ventus R = 4.00cm / 1.5748 in same as G Pro.

Weight Compare

Profile Compare

Yup, sensor on G Pro is better, more energetic and snappy, but muscle memory get used to the other mouse. Love the grip, is like a G302/G303 without those awful edges and shape, and lightweight makes me play more claw and incorporate some fingertip for small corrections, improving my aiming a bunch. Another thing I like more of Ventus R over G pro is with those side grips is very efforftless and natural to pick up the mouse. I'm a low sensitivity player (54 cm/360), and the other thing is the very low debounce (click latency) it feels the same as my NMouse4k

I just mean that the nuances can be acknowledged without going "OMG i cant play !"11!!1!" or "there is no difference, its all just a hoax so people buy new stuff", though its a bit OT as it is more referencing the 203 Thread where the differences are obvious, but if they are detrimental depends on various factors.
