^ pre binned 7700k @ 5.2GHz will definitely be the best gaming cpu you can get right now. Although 5.1GHz binned version is $439 ($80 cheaper than the 5.2GHz version) and makes a lot more sense as an extra 100MHz will probably only be giving you 1-2% increased performance.
You'll only be able to run the cards at pcie 3.0 x8 on z270 but it really shouldn't make a difference what so ever.
silicon lottery is also an approved vendor for the site and has a lot of positive feedback here.
Ya I am going to go with a pre binned 7700k from siliconlottery. With z270 it will run 8x8 right? Pcielanes confuse the hell outta me for some reason. So if I am correct 16x16 would be the best, but with an i7 7700k and z270 only 8x8 is possible right?

8700k will be coffeelake right? They are saying thats pushed back to feb 2018 which is 7 months away. I was going to wait when they were saying august 2017 but now pushed back to far.

I dunno man my plan was to wait for coffee lake but i read several places that its not going to be released until feb 2018. Anyone have any other info on this?
The rumours about Feb 2018 release are months old, from what I've seen lately, pretty much everyone expect it Aug/Sep, there's almost daily leaks/info about Coffee Lake
Wait for Coffee Lake. For just gaming, it has to be Intel, even if they do have less PCI-e lanes than AMD, you're not going to suffer with dual x8 cards.
If you can wait for coffee lake, go for it. Do you at least have some hardware to use the 1080ti's now while you wait? If so, i would wait. If the 1080ti's are sitting there collecting dust, the wait might be a bit harder.
Sure sucks that they keep release dates so hush hush. But i guess that's why there's the expression called the "Osburn effect" which basically means if you keep giving release dates of better hardware, people will just keep waiting for the better hardware and never buy ever lol
Well I ordered a 5.2ghz 7700k from silicon lottery lol. If coffee lake is actually going to release soon I guess I will return the 7700k for now. I thought it wasnt coming until early 2018. Guess I will go back to waiting.
Motherboard makers said Coffee Lake is going to be delayed, I wouldn't expect it until November-December at the earliest. I would say go with a 7700K now, enjoy the system over the next few months, than decide to upgrade to a 8700K if you think you need it.

Source? I've seen the statement that the Z370 chipsets are going to be delayed and that mobo manufacturers need to focus on Z270. But I have not seen a statement that Coffee Lake is going to be delayed.
This is in line with the rumors from last month that Coffee Lake would launch on Z270 boards rebranded as Z370.

Im so confused and literally have no idea what to do lol. Start building this 900d water cooled monster or continue to wait and see if coffee lake comes out in a month or two. Tough decisions honestly. Because if I knew for a fact coffee lake was releasing soon its a no brainer to wait. However, if I wait 2 months and find out then it is getting pushed back to feb that would suck.

I always try to avoid the waiting game. You can always wait around for the next best thing, but it can cause you to keep waiting. Let's say in 2 months Coffee Lake does come out, but then Nvidia is rumored to bring out some new graphics cards in another couple of months. Then you're back to waiting again, then Zen 1 is rumored to come out in a couple months after that and knock Coffee Lake off its throne, etc. Waiting again (You can see what I mean here.)
I say when you're ready to buy, buy. If something new comes out and it's a big enough difference where you'd want it, sell your parts for a small loss and upgrade. Waiting around is just time you could be enjoying your system.

Ya I definitely get that for sure. I already have a gaming pc thats just outdates but is still able to play games with no issues. Its a 4770k overclocked to 4.4 with a gtx 1080. Im just starting a new build in a 900d thats goong to be completely water cooled. So I guess the waiting isn't that bad. But I def dont wanna wait forever since I am ready to start building this beast.
