1.) Using BIOS memory timing defaults except primary timings, tRFC would be off by 1 (300 = 301) from what I had set it. Everything else set to Auto.
2.) Using the included 1.4v 4000mhz memory profile for secondary timings, but modifying clocks, primary timings and tRFC (3600 16-16-16-36-1-300), the tRFC would match what was set in the BIOS. No offset needed.

In other words, the memory profile also seems to help with eliminating the need for an offset.

that's why I'm not seeing the delta 1 on tRFC... I start from a preset and change timings from there. thumb.gif

Hi guys, I've bought a second M2 drive (first one was a Samsung 960 Pro 512Gb installed on cpu_dimm2), a PM961 512Gb that I'm gonna use for gaming as disk D.
Given its little lower performance than the 960 Pro I'm planning to put it on the right, pch_dimm2 (also don't wanna put more than one per adaptor).
Any reason I shouldn't install it there?
And one last thing, haven't they shipped (bundled) with our Apex any fixing screw for the M2's?
I can only find a couple x card, short screws but they're needed to fix the fan bracket and also too short.
I somehow managed to find one for the first M2 (somewhere in my screws box) but I don't know where to find another one for the PM961.

The board should include 4 little plastic bags of M.2 screw sets. Each set consists of a small spacer screw and a tiny screw to tighten down the M.2 stick. Fan bracket includes its own screws as well.

Than I'll have to look better this evening but I'm 99% sure they weren't bundled.
In case where else I could find a couple of this sets?

I just wanted to point out that the cpu_dimm2 adapter has 8x PCIe lanes connected so there is absolutely no reason to not use two drives on one adapter, the two ports are independent. smile.gif

Not sure where to get them. Perhaps, you can try contacting Asus.

The spacer screw is quite specific. They're about half the height compared to the ones that are included with the Maximus IX Apex for instance. In comparison, the M.2 connectors of the DIMM.2 cards that come with the Rampage VI Apex have a lower profile.

You're right and I knew it.
How about the temp from both the M2's compared to one only?
Especially when you'd like to overclock the ram furthermore (I'm planning to go for the 4000 @1.4v).
And lastly what any reason non to use the pch_dimm2 for one M2 only?

Thanks, I'll definitely contact them, just let me have a better look inside the box tonight.
I've used washers and a screw from some laptop (parts) for the first one, not a big deal.

Sure, the settings are just auto everything except primaries and tRFC but next time I am in the BIOS (stress testing something right now) I will get that for you.

memoryprofile_setting.txt 63k .txt file

Here you go. Can ignore the CPU OC settings, I just put them to something that almost any 7820x should be able to run (4.5ghz, 3.0ghz cache)

3600mhz
17-17-17-37-1-300
Everything else auto
Confirmed via CPUID that tRFC was at 301.

Loaded up my normal profile which uses the 4000mhz 1.4v profile that comes with the motherboard with manually entered secondary and tertiary timings, did not need the offset.

3600mhz
17-17-17-37-1-300
Confirmed via CPUID that tRFC was at 300.
