I just looked at your builds in your signature. Jesus christ man. Do you get parts at cost or something? You have like 4 grand in SSDs.

i9-7900 4.6ghz, vid 1.18, 3000 mesh. (VRM 55C.. but that is because of the monoblock)

Should do 4.9 @ 1.36 on all cores smile.gif

my challenge is having the cpu speed drop to 4.3 under some types of load. (like x264 encoding)
I'm not sure why it does this. it isn't because of heat. Honestly the only thing I use all the cores for is sometimes encoding 4k gaming videos ( and that takes FOREVER! so more speed is welcome.)
I really like the gigabyte game 9 hardware, the bios settings are pooo. (or maybe i'm just used to Asus settings)
while i do like seeing the max i can get - noise be dammed! (9 120mm fans can get loud when jacked up)
feels like some volt protection or something (it isn't heat) - but i'm pretty sure i disabled it. At default settings the system will just shut off because of to much volt. tongue.gif

raise load line calibration put power phases to extreme ... should be fine smile.gif

75 pounds for a chip delidder. Seriously?? You can do the same thing with so many other tools. Doesnt Silicon Lottery still do it for like $30 USD?

This thing can delid 1151/2066 and possibly 3647/4094 as the thing can be adjusted to any of those sizes.

i used the rocket 99 to do it. I also used nail polish over the little resistors/chips on the cpu.

Are people using LM for to replace the tim and to the CPU cooler? i'm just doing it inside the CPU. LM scares me if it was under the water block too.

now the waiting game for the glue to dry!

also, FU WATER! i wasn't missing with you.. but of course something popped out. god damn. just a few drops EVERY PLACE! (another reason to wait a bit)
You could cover the ICs around the die like this?

So I delidded my 7900x today. Used liquid electrical tape over the IC's and Thermal Grizzly Conductonaught for the liquid metal. Quite easy using the Rockit 99 delidder. Temps have dropped about 20-30 degress under load - which is amazing. Intel really use ****ty TIM ! Am running max turbo all cores at 4.5Ghz & speedstep to slow down clock and voltage when system not doing much. I am sure could push it more, but am happy with a rock stable 4.5Ghz overclock for 24x7

Yeah, I'll probably play around with it when I've got more time to boot windows. I'm dual-booting Windows & Mac OS Sierra - and the Mac OS is the main am using. The overclocking screws with the power management on Mac OS for some reason - so I've left it on 4.5G, as it works great with these settings
