Does anybody else have trouble getting POGS to see their network? Everything else will be transferring fine, and POGS will be telling me "BOINC can't connect to the internet- check network connection."

I haven't had that issue unless the actual connection is interrupted (like physically unplugging).

Did you install your LAN drivers properly ; if on wifi are you sure it isn't dropping signal?

In BOINC Manager do you have it disconnect after downloading or something?

Did you turn off selective suspend for networking in your power settings?

I've crunched POGs even in VirtualBox (and on wifi , no less) before so if you provide more details maybe we can solve this for you.

I'll double check, but I'm pretty sure I set it up like all my other BOINC projects, and they all connect to the internet fine. For all my computers, my connection to the web is my Android phone, three computers through Bluetooth tethering, the rest via a sync/charging cable plugged into a USB port (micro USB on the phone :tooth:). So when a WU takes longer than it should, I notice, especially when it happens consistently. I haven't run POGS much, but the problem became apparent pretty quickly. Thought it might be a contributing factor as to why not many others on OCN were running it. If it's just me, I might revisit my settings.

I've never had any issues with upload/download of POGS units. The individual tasks are small, so upload and download are nearly instantaneous even on my slow connection.

I added 8 threads of my 1700 to POGS, and I think we can reach our goal.  For our team, 17 members crunching on the same project, at the same time, is a great showing.  Only Gridcoin and OcUK are out-crunching us on POGS at the moment.  :D

Have you tried removing POGS completely, then re-adding the project?

Also under http://pogs.theskynet.org/pogs/prefs.php?subset=global , check you don't have anything odd such as upload speed limit

Valid work has dried up on Drug Discovery. Only invalid resends are being sent out now. I have aborted the little work I was getting.
