Interesting how the 580 beats the Fury X at 1080 but not at 1440.

edit: ROP count accounts for this?

Do you have a source for this? I've been trying to find it.

All the quality settings were the same and visually Vega looked like it was rendering everything the same. For whatever reason Vega 56 was able to beat the GTX 1080 at 1440p and even crush the GTX 1080 Ti's minimum result. This goes against everything seen so far, so again take these numbers with a grain of salt until we can confirm them with at least one other source.

They don't say that about Crysis 3, though, which performs abysmally with Vega in their test.

The only grain of salt there can be is that AMD cheated in their driver somehow. But, if they did it wasn't apparent in IQ to the reviewer. Otherwise, it's a case of a game massively favoring an architecture. Or, the other possibility is that AMD managed to accidentally optimize their Vega driver for it or did it intentionally.

Whatever the story is, the result is very interesting.

OT but the vram amount on the 1080ti is listed wrong on those graphs....clearly not a trustworthy source tongue.gif

The minimum and average framerates are the most important ones since that's where you will be spending most of your time.

It could be much more than one win if it's accurate.

It shows a lot of potential untapped performance in the Vega architecture, potentially – especially considering that Dirt 4 wasn't even designed with Vega in mind.

Edit: Nvm im an idiot haha.

Its clear the 64 needed more time to cook, but Amd took the chance to drop it anyways due to its high hash rate and they were right. We should be seeing better numbers once a few drivers have been released. Atm i wouldnt recommend the 64 as gaming card.
