I bit the bullet and built my current dream machine, 1800x X370 Tiachi MOBO, 3200 of ram running, yada, yada, yada. Now ThreadRipper comes out. WTH? You can't keep up!?? I'm happy with my rig, and still have my other rig goin strong. How much is too much?
I know how you feel. When I was younger and couldn't afford hardware, I used to enjoy trying to get games to run as good as I could on laptops or overclocking low end hardware to try and push a few extra frames. When you have the cash to go all out the fun goes away. Others will disagree with this I'm sure haha

I actually feel this 100%. I have more fun playing with older rigs / lower end parts trying to see what I can tweak and how much performance I can gain.
