I'm in the process of building a new PC. Due to a layoff I sold my last rig and I got my hands on a 2500k but next month sometime I want to buy a video card but I'm not sure let's say I can get a 1080 would it bottleneck alot or should I get a 1070?
I still have a to get a monitor I was thinking an ips 1080p.i found a nice Dell 27 inch 1080 for 100 so that might be my route
hz rate of monitor, g/free sync? Honestly 1080p at 60hz you could get away with less and have a pretty good experience, 1050ti wouldn't be a bad pairing. What are your plans for this rig's longevity?

Browsing benchmarks and it seems like you'll need a gtx 1080 if you want 60+ on your mins, though I think your cpu will be preventing that based on the reviews I'm looking at. What type of overclock do you plan on doing for the cpu?
thanks for the video. I have been watching some 2500K + witcher 3 + RX 580/1070/1060/1080 videos and there is a bottlekneck with the 1080 but with lower cards its not as apparent. I usually use No AA in my games so i think achieving 60fps solid should not be an issue with any of these video cards.
I dont have the funds yet to even buy a card at this moment. I am looking at mid to end of september since I just started working again. Im hoping by this time prices seem to come down due to Miners destroying the market.
As for longevity of the 2500K and what not. I am planning a new Rig build at taxes where I am going to go all out so this will hold me off till taxes. I am a HUGE witcher 3 junkie and I have not been able to play any games for about 6 months now due to the layoff. It does feel good to be back and at least have a PC up and running.
I only have 8 GB of adata 1600 so by the time I get the video card I want to boost it to 16gb. Thanks again for the video. I have time to decide on what GPU I am going to go with.
i plan on overclocking the CPU. as for GPU i will have to see what kind of budget ill have in september to get a GPU. The goal is at least an RX 580 but if I can maybe find a 1070/1080 used at a good price ill snag one
Ended up getting a gts 450 till I save for a far better card.
